Hi Faith, Mary, and Brittany,
Faith thanks for saying that I wasn't snippy. But it is true. People to have to hear, see touch or receive communication at least 6-8 maybe 20 times before they say: ahh, I think I have heard of that... that's because we all have a gazzillion things going on in our minds, its hard for a foreign though to make it in sideways. LOL
I can't tell you how many times my Chiropractor has said to me take fish oil (liquid). He added you can mega -dose and it will not hurt you. After, 9 months where he told me at least 6 times. I went to our local Nutritional shop and got Carlson's Norweigan Fish Oil. In less than 2 days, my b/p made a significant move down. That was after taking heavy doses of many b/p meds (Diovan, Hydocholrot, Metropolol, Amlodopine, Niacin and Asprin) the best reading I could get was 160/103, BTW that was hardly a dent of difference on my pressure. When I mentioned it to my wife, she said: oh so you finally are using fish oil. I can't remember how many times I told you to get some fish oil. You never listen to me...
Mary, that was some great info on Dr. Amen, Hmmm very interesting name. Got to be something to it. Opps, my bi-polar is projecting from the mania side.
Brittany, you know what? TPM is something my wife has been trying to get me to take for quite sometime. I am so scared of pain killers and NSAIDS and what they can do to my heart, that I just block that out, but I have since learned that, Tylenol is one of the safer ones I can take. I may start taking it for pain at least twice a day.
Brittany, use the site link I provided:

It is a good starting point on learning about nutritional supplements, meds, and herbs and how they can work together or work against each other. Both St. Johns Wort and Valerian are not good if you are on many other prescription medications.
That site also has a link to their affiliate vitamin shop, that is also good. You can enter a symtom, illness or disorder and it will bring up 1 or more supplements that may be used for treatment, but then you should check the ingredients by clicking on the item to find the ingredients and check on the first site by entering either prescription med name or supplement ingredient or product name.
I am so glad that everyone here seems to either be on a good track, or is on a good track to better health. So keep on doing what your doing.
Hugs,
