Eating Disorders and Anxiety
I just ordered this program. It should be arriving anyday. I've had numerous eating disorders that are mostly driven by anxiety and depression. I just wondered if that applies to anyone else. Has anyone had any success in that area with this program? I've tried numerous strategies, but I just haven't found anything that works or maybe I haven't tried hard enough. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Moberry,
When I first started having problems with anxiety, I developed anorexia. I developed anorexia because I didn't know how to handle or cope with this constant state of fear that I was now experiencing. I also was afraid of choking because I had difficulty swallowing because of anxiety. I barely ate anything for 8 months. It got so bad that a doctor told me that if I didn't start gaining weight I was going to be put in the hospital. What helped me to get better and start eating again was that I started taking Paxil and I also started seeing a great counselor. Also by learing more about anxiety and what exactly it is helped me realize that anxiety wouldn't hurt me and that it's just anxiety. The program does a great job in explaining what anxiety is and ways to deal with anxiety/depression. Consulting with a doctor about medication and/or seeing a therapist might help also. Take care and I hope this helps

I have anorexia also, not sure if it came first or the anxiety. I know it is a daily struggle. I have been to treatment and like anxiety it is a chronic condition. When I went through the program before it helped me get control of my eating, but not for long. I know this is a big struggle, have you went to treatment just for this? You can write me anytime and we can talk and try to help each other through this....Pam
