does sexual arousment cause anxiety

for me i think that whenever i am sexually aroused and its on my mind for a long period of time i get anxiety it could be that its because my religion doesnt allow it or cuz of the heart racing but i think its a combination of both does anyone know what im talking about?

Well, arousal is arousal and then our brains tend to interpret it as one thing or another. So, if you're feeling physically aroused by sex or sexual thoughts, and you're afraid of them, it's very easy to turn that into anxiety.

Does your religion not permit sex at all, or not sexual thoughts, or not sex outside of marriage? Unless you're not supposed to have "impure thoughts" (as we Catholics called it), you should focus on retraining your brain to enjoy or just be indifferent to sexual thoughts.
