I wanted to go back to school at night (College), but now the teachers may be going on strike ! I really want to get things rolling (New Year's Resolution......one of MANY). I hope that they don't stay on strike too long if they do. I want to get my life in gear. I could start correspondence courses, but I don't know if they are as widely accepted as a college degree or not. Anyone do correspondence courses for work or for themselves ?

Hi Man
when you say correspondance do you mean the mail in assignments or online computer learning? Ny hubby is getting is Bachelor degree in Education online. Well mostly online. and on campus 1 night a week. Is that something you could do? The online route?

I don't know if a teacher's strike affects the online courses. I don't mind going to the college. I just don't know if it would be worth it to sign up this semester. I have done an actual correspondence course through the mail, and that's what I was referring to. The online courses sound like a plan if the teacher's strike doesn't affect them too.

I hope they settle the strike soon so you can
go back to school. I think it's a great idea.
Best of luck

Hey Man,

I know nothing about correspondence courses. I am just letting you know I hope you get this resolved and/or the strike ends soon.

You've sent me supporting messages. Now it's my time. ;)

Hey man,

As a person who works at a college I can tell you that the snowballs still fly on campus! Oooppps sorry, I can tell you that on line courses are affected if they go on strike. I would really look into on line classes. They are a little cheaper because you SHOULDNT have most of the fees that go along with on campus classes. BUT thats my college (yup, I own it, LOL) all the classes people take have to be on line to have the extra fees waived. I know some of the bigger colleges are doing most programs all on line now. Boy I think i'd try that but I have to be there every day so what difference would it make.

Just thought you may like to know that

I KNEW you were responsible for the snowballs ! LOL I kind of like going to an actual classroom and talking with the instructor in person. I don't know how the online classes work. I think I'll wait until next semester to sign up. I think that's at the end of March.
