What's the longest amount of time you've spent anxious?
Hi everyone. Ok, this is kind of hard to explain but I have have a problem with obsessive scary thoughts and when I have one I tend to obsess about how long I've been anxious. For example. I've had this obsession about how I act in front of others for about 3 1/2 months. I always know exactly how long I've been anxious almost down to the day. Ok, literally down to the day. So anyway. What is the longest you've ever stayed in an anxious period in your life? How did you finally get over it?
I have been going through a bout of anxiety sence Febuary 1st. Dizzy all the time, heavyness in chest like I cant take a deep breath, swetting, hot, cold. headache. Yeah you name it. And then if I dwell on it, boom! Huge panic attack. So I am trying to use the skills in the program, I am only on lesson 4, so at least everything I have learned until then. Most days I am exausted from fighting it, but once in a while I break through and have a few good hours a day, and they are getting more frequently all the time. Hang in there.
Hi Everyone,
I have learned that if you accept those body symptoms, that will indeed cut their life-span in half, if not more. In no time at all, you will be feeling much better...
We all have the tendency to think..Oh no...Here it comes again...And, then tend to try and resist the symptoms, which only prolongs the agony...
I learned all of this through "experience"....
Try it sometime, and notice how soon you just seem to snap out of it...It worked for me, and I am sure it will work for you...God Bless...
PS...By the way, that dizzy feeling is a scary feeling, but, you have to remember it will pass..You are not going to faint or die...You are a healthy individual who is experiencing "high anxiety"...Don't forget to use your positive self-talk, as well as, your deep breathing exercises during these episodes...
Remember...The more you resist anything, the worse you feel!!!! Try and think of all the things in life you are resisting, and make a plan to float through those resistant behaviors!!! Make peace with yourself, but, most important "Make peace with God"...Try it..Love you all bunches...God Bless...
