Very Frustrated!!!
I've been crusing along for almost 6 months now with out any issues and last week I had a really bad cold, took a strong antibiodic and this week my anxiety is rearing it's ugly head. I really thought I had this licked and I'm feeling really frustrated and angry that I'm experiencing this again. I can't talk to my wife because it scares her and she gets freaked out which makes me feel even worse. So,,,thank God for this forum and all of you kind folks!
Medications can have unanticipated side effects and we anxiety folks seem to be more susceptible to them. I had a similar reaction to an asthma medication and an antibiotic.
Keep talking positive to yourself. You can get through this and the medication is just upsetting your system. Once you are done taking it, the side effects will stop and you'll feel better. Your increased anxiety doesn't necessarily mean that you're slipping backwards.
Now would be a great time to review the material in the program. Think of it as a refresher course. It's always a good idea to keep your skills sharp and this is a great excuse.
Take care,
Jamie

Hi John61-
I have a bit of a different take on this. Look at how great you are doing. Who cares that you feel anxious after your antibiotic-- you were sick, down and out enough to go to the Dr. and you got a side effect that is bothering you. I know you don't like this and I don't want to minimize it at all.
But-- the thing I think you should take great joy in is look at what you just did. You had 6 great months, got some anxiety and you zoomed back to what you know works and are working it. That is awesome!! You are not quitting and giving up. Sounds like you want to kick some anxiety butt to me. You are healthy and strong in your attitude.
A great book was recommended to me called Freedom from Fear by Dr. Howard Leibgold. In it, he says there are certain times when anxiety or "Boo" will rear his ugly head. I would think being sick and taking meds could be one of them. I know I can sure feel when my monthly hormone shifts are occurring sometimes. But... the great thing is, if you know that you are more susceptible, when it does happen, you aren't surprised and it feels B-O-R-I-N-G. "oh, this again. It will pass."
I hope you are up and at 'em again soon and are feeling better again.
