Hello Everyone!I've been experiencing a scary symptom. When I lay down at night and turn on my side I get a vertigo feeling like I'm going to roll of the coach. It only lasts a few seconds. Then I've just been noticing that when I first wake up my heart starts beating fast and I wake up really hot. When i get up i have that vertigo feeling and then of course comes the adrenaline.Has anyone ever had these feelings?I talk with my doctor but they just keep saying that it's a part of the anxiety.I'm trying so hard to convince myself of this but it's not working out for me to well. It's scary!Any feedback would be great. Thank-you!
Hi, there--I have this symptom, too. I have it less and less now that I am beginning to accept that it is anxiety related, but I have arbitrary feelings of dizziness, being off balance, and heart flutters for just a second or two. If I turn my head too fast or sometimes just move my eyes too fast to focus on something else this will trigger this feeling. Have had eye and heart exams, and it is all fine. Just anxiety.
Vertigo can also sometimes be caused by ear imbalance, like an ear infection or water in your ears. If your doc has ruled that out, I'd chalk it up to anxiety and take a deep breath. You are fine!!!

Sounds as if it is an inner ear issue, especially because it happens when you lay on your side. There are very small crystals that get dislodged and fall into the little hairs in the ear canals. If you move or lay the wrong way they will stimulate the little hairs and make you feel dizzy momentarily. After a few seconds everything settles down again. There are exercises you can do to get the crystals to move through the ears canals so that they will no longer irritate the little hairs. YOu can go to the Mayo Clinic website and look up Benign Positional Vertigo.
That was a layman's explanation of what it could be. You can go to an E.N.T. and see if indeed it is an inner ear issue.
Anxiety can and does cause dizziness as well. I have been getting dizziness/off balance feelings for a year now
I wish you the best, let us know what happens.
