Another Good Days questions
Anyone else seem to burp up fish after? I know that's gross, but just curious. I know it has fish oil in it, but I really don't remember having this issue when I first started it. I had to get off of them for several weeks because I was sick and the cough meds I was on didn't mix well with herbs so I didn't want to take a chance. I thought maybe it was because I was taking them on an empty stomach but I took them with oatmeal this morning..same thing. Maybe I should up my water intake? It isn't enough for me to stop taking them, just curious if anyone else has this issue.

Maggie,
I don't know about dependency but their essential vitamins your body needs. Its not like you are taking drugs. But i guess yor body can be dependent on being healthy. I know mine has. Anytime I start eatin unhealthy I don't feel good mentally and physically so I go back into my healthy diet.

Keep the vitamins in the freezer. This decreases or eliminates the fish oil burps. Also consider taking the vitamins at night when the burps won't bother you (since you'll be asleep). Incidentally, my doctor did not allow me to take Good Days (bummer, I was excited about them) due to possible interactions with my meds and all the herbals in the good days (I take Lamictal and Abilify). I do take fish oil by itself, though, for its benefits on mood disorders and cardiovascular benefits- and the freezer trick works. I take about twice the amount included in the Good Days package, since amounts used in studies are about double what's included in the Good Days package.
Ive taken fish oil pills for years they are excellent for heart health.
Yes you can burb a fish smell if you dont take with enough water or food.
Drinking a full glass of water with your vitamin package will stop this from happening.
I always take my vitamins with my dinner because its my biggest meal....Vitamins are absorbed into the system better when taken with food.
I dont believe that you can become addicted to vitamins. They are a major part in good health and not a one of us has a personal chef cooking all natural nutritionally balanced meals so vitamins and supplements are essential for good health.

Wow I wasn't expecting all these responses...I thought I was the only weirdo.
Lets see... I keep my vitamins at work on my desk so I remember take them every day and by my keys at home (I have 2 boxes) to take them on the weekends. I don't know if keeping them in the freezer would help with that but maybe I can leave myself a note at the door.
When I first started taking the good days, I was taking them at night and found they gave me a gassy stomach if I were to lay down after taking them...even taking them with dinner. Taking them at breakfast seems to be the only way to help prevent that for me...but then again I was just starting them and wasn't used to them yet. I will give that a whirl as well.
As for how I feel on them, I feel great. I've been taking them for a month straight, then like I said I got really sick and had to stop...was sick for almost 2 months so I'm just now getting back on them. The biggest thing I noticed is that it is a whole lot easier for me to get up in the morning. I don't think you can become dependent on them, but with anything if you feel good while taking it, discontinuing it is going to make you feel like crap.
I have a horrible drinking problem...I can go all day w/o drinking anything. Something I'm trying to over come. I will make a huge effort to drink a full glass of water after taking them.
Thanks all for all of your suggestions. This isn't really bothersome...tends to go away after a few hours. Not enough for me to stop taking them, I was just curious.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
