happy columbus day everyone! just wanted to log in to say that i've decided to spend an extra week on session 5 AND I'VE planned to QUIT SMOKING TODAY!!!! I know it's only 11:00am but I'm determined and , after 15 yrs., READY!!! Wish me luck, keep me in your prayers as I do the same for ALL of you!!!! -----If there is anyone on that has any advice for someone who lit a cigarette with-in the first 3minutes of every day for such a number of years please respond! I think that's why I'm thrilled! I've ALMOST gotten thru the morning! 1 more hour to go and (being optimistic here) it should be all down hill after that! :D

Liz27 -GREAT FOR YOU!!! I hope you are able to get through this with your desire to overcome. I personally do not smoke, but that is the way my mom quit 5 years ago, cold turkey. It worked for her and it will work for you. Be strong and proud of yourself.

Hi there! Congratulations!!!
I quit cold turkey over 10 years ago.
I smoked incessantly before I quit. One when I got up and all day thereafter. Two to three packs a day.
I just got sick of them!! My apartment smelled terrible. My hair did . Everything was just saturated with stale smoke. I had tried to quit
many times before. But then those times I'd feel deprived. But that last time I quit, I really WANTED TO.
And that is what makes the difference.

You can make it!!!
My thoughts are with you!!!
You'll be so happy you did!!! I know you will.
Courage!!
MJ

BIG THANKS to all of you for the encouraging words! :) I am using Nicorette to help me quit and let me just say thank goodness I decided to spend the money on it! I know that sounds silly because cigarettes aren't free but I never could bring myself to buy a carton because of the price. A pack a day for $5 and I just wouldn't allow myself to do the math. It has been VERY VERY tough but I really want this. Honestly I NEVER thought I would even try sooo the fact that I'm on day 4 is very surreal! Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers- I know this sounds silly BUT I guess I never realized it would be this hard!
