Christ and Your Problems

Reading this has helped me over time. I hope it encourages someone.

"There is no trial that has overtaken you but such as common to man, and God is faithful who will not allow you to be tried beyond what you are able to endure, but with the trial also will make a way of escape in order that you may be able to endure it." (1 Cor. 10:13) (If these things we experience are 'common to man' that means our problem is not unique- we are not the only one in the world experiencing them.)

"Christian, no matter how serious your present problems may be, no matter how hopeless the situation may seem, take heart! (Don't give up) You are not alone. You have a sympathetic High Priest who can enter into all your problems, for they have been His problems too. He knows your heartache. He knows your sorrow. He knows your pain. He knows!

When others around you who do not know Christ cave in under life's load, you may stand. No, you can stand! For God has caused you to face the same problems that they face in order that He may demonstrate in you the wonder of His power and grace.

Stop complaining, whining, worrying. Pick up the Bible again; feed upon it's strengthening message....

Not all of your problems will disappear immediately, but at least your attitude toward them can change radically today. You can look at them with hope. God does not permit you to lose hope if you are His child. The very concept of a child of the faithful God in utter despair is an anomaly. God's hope will not fail; it is hope that delivers! Throw aside, then, all self-pity, abandon every vestige of hesitation, strip yourself of excuses and rationalizations, and cast yourself wholly upon this promise of God and the God of promise. Then you will learn the joy of echoing those ringing words of faith and trust: "Great is they faithfullness." (J. Adams-Christ and Your Problems)

WOW!
What a powerful message of encouragement - I was guessing it was written by Spurgeon. Thanks for sharing it. It's good to know fellow Christians are on this site to lift each other up in prayer. Thanks for sharing the quote.

I am not recovered 100% yet. That is the important word- yet

It will be 2 years ago in July that my panic hit (actually i was having a nervous breakdown). There have been times when I felt like I have recovered 99%. I just had a little setback 2 weeks ago when we were having our house painted inside and everything was just a total mess and out of control. Trying to deal with a family of five while your house is in dissaray is stressful! Bu I've had little setbacks before and I've always gotten over them. Each span of time where i go without symptoms of anxiety is longer and longer.

It takes a lot of work and you have to be persistant. but God is good and I have come SO far in this journey!

CJR, Thank you again. I will refer to this often. I want to be a witness to nonbelievers and you're right, I'm not a good one when I'm whining, complaining and worrying. Our God is great and knows our every need.
