Hello everyone,
Had sort of a meltdown this morning and thought about it for a good part of the day. I've never done this before, but I wrote myself a letter; stepping outside of the situation if you will. I expect to read this several times a day b/c it has meaning to me. I only post this b/c maybe you may come up with something that has meaning to you.
Dear Woodbridge,
I'm writing this letter to tell you that you are a wonderful, talented, and loved individual. Everything you were told as a child by your parents was false. Your parents merely repeated everything that was told to them as a child by their parents, and they believed it. In doing so, they created a limited, incorrect view of life and passed that on to you. This does not have to be your future.
Today, and every day forward, is a gift from God in anyway you may define who or what God is. It is yours to explore possibilities, experience happiness, and find inner peace. I ask that you dare to dream and in doing so consider the possibility of a life that far exceeds your expectations. I write because it is available if only you will believe.
The stress and anxiety you feel is simply your fear of embracing life. To that I have a secret to tell you; there is nothing to fear. Fear was a seed planted by your parents whereby they fertilized, trimmed, and nurtured it for many years. You unknowingly took over as an adult and continued on their path. Today that ends. That plant has been uprooted and destroyed, and the fertile ground awaits new seeds.
In closing, take a few minutes every morning, noon, and night to dream about the life you want. Imagine the sights, the sounds, the smells, the tastes, and the people. Imagine these sensations to be as real as reading this letter. If you do, your dreams will eventually come true.
Your friend,
Woodbridge
A therapeutic letter to myself
Hi Woodbridge,
You are quite a writer!!! Writing letters to one's own self is VERY THERAPEUTIC, so you definitely have the right idea going for you!!!
There is also an "inner child" in all of us who got lost somewhere along the way!!! We need to learn how to comfort that "inner child" and let it know that it is safe, secure and healthy!!!
I have a posting somewhere on this little forum about how I come anxiety and panic attacks and part of that was comforting the "inner child" within me!!!
I pray that you had a "Very Merry Christmas and that you have a "Happy New Year"

Woodbridge,
What a powerful letter! It is concise, well written, and has the unmistakable ring of truth to it.
It really resonates with me because I find myself in the same "Spot on the road". I am ready to embrace life, recognize that anxiety is a lie, and step forward with courage.
I wish you strength and patience and courage.
Let's go get the life that is waiting for us!
