Schnauzermom and Coco:
Thanks you are both too kind. I use the PC based Sony Vegas. It is very powerful and many movie studios use it. I wish I could use 1/3rd of it. I did a lot of research on MIC's and I bought a Samson. I love the look of the SnoBall and with my big mouth everything is picked up :) I am transitioning to and IMAC in June and I will be switching to Final Cut Express.

I have been dropping hints to Carolyn that we need a "StressTube." Where people can make audiocasts or videocasts and post them here. Of course, there are a lot of costs and monitoring associated in doing so!

Thanks Steve! I have a Mac Pro, that is what we use in school so that is what I had to get to work with at home. A Samson mic? Hmmm! We went to Guitar Center last weekend and was blown away at all the choices. Too much for me. I use a simple $40.00 mic at home and the SnoBall at school.

I have found MAC program to work with ease! I have never used Final Cut Express but I imagine it is as easy to use as Pro.

Remember if you are s student, Apple DOES give student discounts on everything ordered on-line. NO store discounts are given I have been told. I got the CS3 Premium for in the $280.00 range. It normally retails for $1799.00! HUGE difference.

StressTube? Now THAT would be a creative outlet! But yes the monitoring would be a monumental feat! BUT, it would be cool to have a Luncinda's weekly PodCast message on here. :)

Again GREAT job Steve! I have something to admire and aspire to! :)

Schnauz:
I would have never thought I would have switched to a MAC. Well after two virus crashes last year, I started looking around and fell in love with the MacBook Pro. I was going to get one and then with my diabetes, I need all the screen size real-estate that I can get! Now I am favoring the IMAC. What is your degree?

Steve,

I too was a die hard PC fan. But like you, LOTS of viruses on the PC. I was working on a PC laptop and it just crawled, too much for all the graphics even with upgraded memory, video cards, etc. I was going to get a laptop, but I really wanted the power that the Mac Pro delivers (and VERY easy to add more, larger memory as it really has lots of room in the cabinet)

Well, if screen size is an issue, I have the 32" cinema screen. I was going to do dual screens, but I just do not have the desk space in my studio. I believe you can hook that 32" screen to the IMac. It works GREAT for detailed Photoshop work.

My degree is in Multi Media and Web Design. (decided to double major since I am on full scholarship! :D) I may also lump in Computerized Design certificate since I have completed 2 Photoshop courses, 1 Illustrator course (Illustrator II in the fall) and I would just have to take Layout and InDesign (formerly Quark), so I do not have much to get that one. I am staying away from animation for now, TOO much code. And you?

I envy you a 32" cinema display!!!! I also saw the prices on those monsters. I was thinking of a MAC Pro but not into a 4500.00 expense. I am finishing my MBA and have a BA in Mass Media.

Thanks Steve! WOW! MBA! Congrats! I will be finishing my associates in about a year if all the classes are offered. (at times they are cancelled due to lack of enrollment.)

The way I afforded the monitor was because I am on full tuition scholarship at school(it is valid for 4 semesters, excluding summer), which opened some funds up to invest in the 32" monster.

Check for scholarships. I am not financially eligible through FASFA, but my professor suggested I apply for and he also recommended me for a Leadership Scholarship. That was awarded through the Board of Trustees at the college. I never even knew it existed. I ALWAYS suggest checking on line, at the college financial aid office, talk with people in class. You never know what is out there. Adobe recently had their awards out and some people received money for their awards.

Good luck to you Steve! :)

I'm glad I cam across this post. I watched the endorsement on youtube and it brought tears to my eyes because I could hear my own story through yours, as I'm sure many others here could as well. Thanks for sharing that. I am having a tough day with my fears and worry.

;) Great job Steven! You know your voice is so calm and soothing I would pay you to make an afirmation tape for me. Really, you do have a wonderful voice. Loved your story! And mistakes? I didn't catch any.

Beautiful job Steve!!!
wow, I agree with Dee. How about asking the StressCenter.com to make or accept a positive dialog/testimony tape as an adjunct to the program? It would be awesome to have about 30 minutes worth of positive affirmations such as those found in Helmstetter's book. It would be a great idea to have a male voice, particularly one such as yours, to reach out to some of the young men and women. I'm thinking male teens because it's vital for them to relate to another man who can encourage positive dialog/thinking. Mentor type of mentality.
What do you think?
God bless and huge hugs to you-always an inspiration.
