Man I just to seem to be worrying constantly lately. About my health, my families health, our finances.......How do I turn this around? I distract myself and do positive self talk but its tough. This constant stream of negative thinking is pretty tough!I am on week 6. I don't want to worry anymore. I just want to trust God and live! How do I do that? Thanks for listening. Prayers to all.

CathyB,

You're worried about your health and finances? We must be related :D! I have a letter from my bank that has been sitting on my desk 3 days unopened. All of a sudden they started charging me late fees when I wasn't late and I had written them about this two weeks ago. The letter is their reply...and I have been worried about it--even though I feel I am right. Believe me worry about finances and my health have been two long-standing worry factors for me. (Last month I had the family health worries when my mother-in-law was sick.)

Check out this thread I started in the Spirituality forum. http://bbs.stresscenter.com/ev...=816103434#816103434 I started doing this to work on worry, trying to be more calmer, and build my relationship with God by trusting in Him. I also read the Bible and a topical Bible.

I recently unearthed books on anxiety and depression I had stored away in a box. The first one that I am reading is Change Your Brain Change Your Life,
http://www.amazon.com/Change-Y...id=1253463722&sr=1-1

Just take it one day or moment at a time. Accept it is a process. Trust in God and believe in yourself.

I opened the letter. My worry was for nothing. They waived one late fee (but not another) and they actually sent documents which support my contention. If they come back again, I will write to the federal regulatory agency for banks.

With regards to accepting it's a process, keep in mind: if your parents worried and/or you had health scares, this is a long time of thinking you are changing. I have had 40 years of worried thinking with regards to my health (thanks to Mom and my own reaction to recent health matters). I have had 10-15 years of worry about finances. I am not going to be able to change my thinking overnight (though, I would love to )

Thanks for the response charlieb. I know I am in a place that God brought me to or rather I was getting here anyway and God said "Let's use this time to deal with some issues Cath." I know the Lord is with me and I know I absolutely have to change my thinking! I will take it one day or one moment at a time. Thinking ahead makes me stressed! ha!ha! God Bless CharlieB

CathyB....wow, I can totally relate! You're not alone in this. I'm the very same way. I have an 8 month old so now I worry about him as well. Attempt to relax and get through one moment at a time. It'll pass...it always does! The Lord will only give you as much as he knows you can handle...
