I've noticed the same thing. My racing thoughts that I may have hypoglycemia have tortured me for years. I had a serious wakeboarding accident two years ago and was knocked unconscious. When I cane to I had the worst panic attack of my life and went into shock. Once at the hospital the doctor told me my sugar was a little low...that was my killer! I obsessed about what he said ever day since. I looked up the symptoms and sure enough they matched. But that was before I realized that increased anxiety causes low sugar! What a relief to know that my stress causes these feelings! Control the stress and the sugar will become stable! Good Luck to all!
This is very true. I have noticed that ever since I started therapy and exercising on a daily basis, my stress levels have gone down significantly. I've also noticed that my low blood sugar fears have as well. I've stopped eating as much and even when I am hungry, I don't panic about it like I used to. I don't feel shaky and out of it either anymore. Great point!

For me, low blood sugar definitely gives me more panic attacks. If I don't eat every 3 or 4 hours I get really dizzy and start getting adrenaline rushes. When I eat some food I instantly feel better and more calm. I've worried about having hypoglycemia too. It gets pretty annoying, but I just try to eat every 3 hours and that helps a lot. In college it's kind of hard to eat in between classes because you only have like 10 minutes between each class and you have to walk all around which takes up most of the time. I'm hoping that I can do better with it this year.

I also have issues with low blood sugar and panic. Sometimes I can't tell the difference since many of the symptoms are similar. Often if I'm starting to feel nervous, having a small healthy snack will help calm me down. I always try to keep something with me whenever I go out, like a granola bar, so if I feel like I need to eat, I don't have to worry about finding food.

Searunner,

This is a bit delayed, but you are smart to carry around something with you! I've actually found that protein helps me the most, not sugar so much. Protein was recommended to me by a nurse actually. It helps so much. I bought these quaker granola bars that are peanut butter and chocolate chip plus protein. I believe they have 5 or so grams of protein in them and they actually help a lot when I feel like I really need something fast.

I went undiagnosed with Type II diabetes for 15 years. I have terrible hypoglycemic attacks where my glucose drops into the 50's. They feel like panic attacks...You will learn over time how to balance this.
