I started taking this Antidepressant called Pexeva. Which is the same as Paxil, and this is the 3rd day i've taking it. First day it made me feel good then got this burning feeling all over my body for a few minutes along with anxiety and upset stomach then the symptoms stopped fast. Then next day i got the shakes and got nervous with the burning feeling all over then i had to wait it out for a whle and then i stopped. Yesterday i started grinding my teeth all day which made my tmj worse and i was confused and worried and at that night i went to bed i woke up shaking like crazy i was having a really bad panic attack my body was aching badly and i felt like i had to vomit and my stomach was hurting so bad and i felt that burning feeling again all over had to go to my grandmas i was scared and it lasted like 2 hours of me shaking.
Now i quit taking them on the 4th day. My doctor isn't in yet so i called the pharmasist and she told me that it was ok to stop taking it since i only had took it for 3 days.
I've taken this medicine before in 07 for my panic disorder and i helped. I have no idea why it is making me even more nervous and have panic attacks bad like i did before worse than i do now. The doseage is 10mg. And i'm really upet because it did start to relax me and work until i felt dizzy confused with bad bad stomach aches and shaking like crazy with my body aching badly and the burns coming.

Hi there,
Sorry you are dealing with that or dealt with that. I know that sometimes meds do weird things. For instance, I have taken Lexapro for 4 yrs and it has worked well for me, until a few months ago. I got very depressed, anxiety was high, and I was just not feeling well. I tried to increase the dosage but that seemed to make me more anxious and depressed. Over a period of weeks and months, I started to be my own doctor. I started to not take it some nites and noticed that I would feel much better.I tried that off and on and would actually feel better not taking it. Well, I am actually not taking it at all now, and I have noticed that the depression has lifted, the anxiety is gone, panic attacks are gone...it is weird! I am still trying to figure this out myself, but I don't know. Maybe your body's chemicals are not responding the medicine as it did before.
Find out what your doctor thinks. You probably need to try something else.
Hope you feel better soon!! Prayers are with you!

Hi!
I hope that you are feeling better. During this past year, I discovered that I can not take antidepressants. Whenever I try, my anxiety skyrockets. Six months ago my doctor put me on a low dosage of Buspar, 5 mg. twice a day, and I seem to be having good luck taking it.
Another medication that I can not take is Nexium, because it also increases my anxiety. Whenever I told my doctor this, she acted like I was crazy. When I did research on Nexium,I discovered the website www.askapatient.com. When I read the reviews on Nexium, I felt a lot better. I discovered that there were many others who were experiencing anxiety while taking this medication. I was not the only one!
Just remember that you WILL get better! I will keep you in my prayers.

I fully understand what you're going through. I had massive panic attacks a few years ago after only a few days on Lexapro. It caused me to have back-to-back, rolling panic attacks and I thought I was going to die! I trusted me guy instinct and took myself off of it, and it all went away within a day or so.
The question is then...what can sensitive people take? I am desperate for something, and have been on Clonazepam 0.5 mg/2x daily for 7 years - but it is no longer really doing anything at all.
Anyone have any insight for a sensitive medicine person?

dear lostgirl,
i have been on xanax, zoloft, flexerill, antigen.I have gotten off all my meds...maybe not the best idea but...when i didn't take the xanax I would feel horrible. My whole body would shake and feel like I would puke. The zoloft didn't seem to work either so by docs advice we doubled it and then I got very sucical all I wanted to do was die.The muscle relaxers didn't help my muscle ache at all. The antigen did calm me down but to the extent that I couldn't function. I don't know what's worse. I took the xanax at night to help me sleep because my brain just won't stop racing thoughts..but I lost my insurance and can't afford it anymore so now I take tylenol pm. I don't advise getting off your meds without talking to your doc. I relate to you and your panic. Take care lost girl.
