Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the website. I'm a 19 year old guy who has been dealing with anxiety for 5 years now. I have had anxiety disorder intermittently for 5 years. When I didn't have the disorder I have just felt numb.

So I got the book last February "Panic to Power" .
It changed my life. I felt alive again. I read through the book in 3 days. I felt much better but would still have huge set backs. This convinced me to buy the program. The problem I keep facing is... when I felt to a point where I didn't need the program I stopped following it. I never did the journal thing consistently. I did the relaxation tape only 1 time per day. But I feel for the most part under control. Put sometimes stress just gets to me and I have awful weeks at a time.

So My question to the community is it really that important to follow the exact instructions? Should I go through the program again even though I feel for the most part recovered? I feel somewhat content but still find myself getting furious at myself when I fall back into anxiety and say negative things in my mind.

Please advise :)

Hey Ben -

I suppose it varies from person to person. Some people can get by barely skimming through and others have to work really hard following everything to the letter and then some. Most of us are somewhere in between. But the most important point is the old adage that you only get out of something what you're willing to put in. So, do as much work as you need to get the maximum benefits. I'm sorry I can't be more definitive, but this is a pretty subjective question.

As for your question regarding redoing the program, it sounds like you are doing fairly well. Perhaps you can review some of the sessions that are most appropriate to your situation. If that doesn't do the trick, then starting from scratch couldn't hurt.

Best of luck
Jamie
