Hi everyone! I've been on alpozolam .25 3x/day for about 3 months now. Before that I took .125 2x/day for about a year every day. I want to get off it and I'm so scared! I know I'm not addicted, but I'm afraid that I'll have bead withdrawal from it when I try to get off. Do I take too little to have really bad withdrawal? I hate medication and this is probably one of the worst ones! Aghhh! Please someone tell me what I'm supposed to do!! xoxo!

No your withdrawal should not be bad at all. Taking .25mg three times daily for three months time is not going to cause you to go into horrible withdrawal. If you stop taking the medication cold turkey then yes you might have some minor problems, such as agitation and irritability but I am assuming your going to be going off of this medication with your doctors support, tapering off of it. If you taper off of it correctly, you should have no problems at all. Good luck =)

I'm sorry during my first read through I didn't catch that you were on .125 2x/day for a year. That is an extremely low dose you were taking, as is .25mg. So even tho you have been on the medication everyday for over a year, the dose has been so low that I doubt you will run into any problems at all. Like I stated about just make sure you taper off under a docs supervision and you will be just fine.
The people who have trouble getting off of Xanax are the people who take Xanax bars (1mg-2mg) three times daily for years and years, they are taking more then 4mg a day for say 10 years and then they stop the medications, those are the conditions that you hear horror stories stem from. With your case however, you will be just fine.
