What helped me make a 180 degree change in my life.
i recomend hope and help for your nerves by Doctor claire weeks i could nto put this book down because it was so me i finally understand what happens to my nervous system when i whave a panic attack she clearly puts this into perspective that i can understand and pretty much understand that panic and anxiety can be a nervous breakdown. she also says to let the feelings of the panioc come and invite them in til they dont bother you anymore then you will truly be over panic attacks once a person starts to invite the panic in and not give it a second glance it will continue to disappear. i recomond this book to evryone it didnt cure me but it helped realise whats is going on in my body. now i try not to count my heart beats pay attention to my dizzy sprlls or pay mind to the tingling it seems to be working somewhat but im still having problems going for walks yet. it takes time

lilchrissy- I have just read this whole thread & would like to thank you for mentioning this....only sorry that I had not seen this before. I just ordered the book now and am looking so forward to some new perspective and tools to finally manage this anxiety....and wean off the medication I have been taking for too long and get on with life instead of worrying about anxiety. I actually feel hopeful instead of hopeless.

You're welcome and thanks for making my day a little better by thanking me personally. I sincerely hope you can find similar success to what I have experienced using these exercises and especially the TEA form. It's a little awkward at first doing them but when you start to get it they really help a lot.Originally posted by Silvana1968:

TNL,
The book can be purchased on the internet at www.tao3.com
It is a short book and outlines the TEA forms as well as a few other exercises that are pretty helpful also. It is written by a guy who had bad anxiety for most of his life like Lucinda and is sharing what helped him. The TEA forms have been a Godsend for me and I hope they are helpful to you too

Can I ask a question about this book or these tea forms if they are one in the same? Does it constantly want you to think about your anxiety? If so how do you ever get over it? Wouldn't it just reinforce that it's a problem and keep it in the front of your mind? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It does have you focus on your anxiety causing thoughts and that's a bit rough initially, but once you start countering them in the TEA forms they start to lose their anxiety causing power over you.
Even when you are not focusing on these thoughts they are still running through your mind and causing anxiety because they are on an endless loop running unopposed in your head and thus making you miserable. Once you get them down on paper and see the errors you are making and correct or oppose them they lose their power and your anxiety astarts to dissipate.

TNL I see someone else already answered you and I hope you are using the TEA forms and having some success with them. Diligence and practice are the key to getting the most out of them in my experience.
Jeff S I can't really add anything, I think that egriff gave a really good answer. There's something magical about writing your thoughts down and countering them on paper.
