Avelox

Hello, about two weeks ago i was prescribed Avelox (moxifloxin) antibiotic one of the adverse effects was anxiety, I have been off meds for a week and am suddenly having server anxiety. was wondering if anyone else has had an experience with this drug. When I was on it it was awful, anxiety, scary thoughts, etc

I have never taken that medication but if you google it, I am sure you can find out more information. I have heard of other meds such as Cipro and Levaquin having bad reactions is some people. The syndrome is called "floxed". HTH

Yes, I was prescribed Avelox a few years ago, and I also, had to stop taking it after 3 days. I was having severe anxiety...bad thoughts, and all. I was having scary dreams and it was just very weird. They told me that it was a side effect so I had to stop taking it. I seem to have lots of side effects to antibiotics! LOL

Thank you book, after you stopped taking the meds did your symptoms go away?

Yes those symptoms went away after I stopped the meds. Did yours go away? They should. It just needs to get out of your system.

they did but then on tuesday I started getting very anxious again, went up online and they said something about symptoms starting up again after you stop taking it,lots of horror stories not sure what to believe but I called the pharmacist and he said that if I was to have a serious adverse reaction it should have happened when I was taking the pills not after, he said that the meds were out of my system.
