This was the key verse for our sermon last Sunday:

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Joshua 1:9
Shif.

If you don't like something change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think about it.

Hi Shif:
Thanks for sharing that.

My daughter sent me that verse about 3 weeks ago.
I must need to think on it. And perhaps have a lot more courage.

Hi Cornflower,

The pastor also talked about how the Lord can hold all the earth's water in one hand and then he went into the desciption.

The average person can hold maybe a teaspoon of water in the palm of their hands - so something like 700 million trillion people would have to hold a teaspoon of water in the palm of their hands to equal all the water on the earth - and there are only 7 billion people on the earth.

His point was - if God can hold the earth's water in one hand - why couldn't he handle our problems?

It's not to put down any Christians, we all are here for very similar reasons and challenges! And I am the first to admit that when I'm overwhelmed it doesn't seem like anything can be done to alleviate that anxiety and stress.

But just knowing that He is able to understand and take over our problems is comforting!

I certainly agree that that is comforting , Shifrah!

Our God is more mighty than we can often comprehend. It is good to know that we can trust Him to help us with our problems, no matter how big those porblems look to us.

Today i got this verse from my eldest Daughter:
Ephesions 1:11
"Even when we are blind to the evidence, God works out everything in conformity to the purpose of His will."

I believe we can trust Him with everything, even tho' we don't see answers right away.

I enjoyed your 'sermon'. Very helpful!

A beautiful verse indeed Cornflower. Thank you so much for sharing.

I think at all stages of our lives we need to focus on these verses. God is the comforter and he's always in control. And there's not much we can do about it, LOL!

I'm so glad he created Lucinda, too! :) I love how we are all in His plan, aren't you?
