Practice, practice, practice! I have the same problems and unfortunately, the only way to get over our fears is to face them. It's not fun, but it's worth it if it give us our lives back.
For me, I try to take risks that get me anxious, but not into full-blown panic. By repeated exposure, things are starting to get easier. I still have a very long way to go, but I keep reminding myself that I've come a long way too.
Good luck,
Jamie

I used to get attacks when driving. My first full blown attack happened when I was stuck in the middle of eight lanes in rush hour traffic. I knew that to go to work, I would need to overcome. I started by driving routes i was familiar with. I knew where all the exits were, so I knew that my next escape was only about a mile or less up. I did try to drive during less congested hours if possible. But, yes, with practice it will get better! I promise.
I don't have much experience with this particular form of anxiety, but I would just say in general to try to stay focussed on where you're going and why and not worry so much about the other drivers because you really have very little control over them. Try to be rational and don't anticipate negativity. And if you start to feel anxious just reassure yourself that you are not going to let it get the best of you. Don't let it get out of control and if you ever really need to you could pull over for a minute and gather your thought, in a cool ratinal way. You CAN do it. Also I don't know what your religious orientation is, but I would look to God. Find comfort and peace through faith and trust in God. Good Luck
