I may not have OCD, but I have autism.

It seems that God has put me so far behind that I'll never catch up. It looks like I'll never drive, never get a better job, never leave home, and never have a girlfriend. I'm thinking of just letting go of God because he won't answer my prayers and he's letting me suffer.

God hates me.

MrCleveland,

Whoa, step back and take a deep breath! Remember that God gave you a free will. He does not control your life. We all have limitations but to different degrees. Autism covers a wide range of limitations. First, read your statement and count how many negatives are in it. Then ask yourself, How can positive things happen to me if I am thinking in the negative? Try focusing on the present. You seem to be overwhelming yourself with the future. List what you can do right now. Ask yourself what can I do now to overcome my limitations. Take one step at a time. Also, get the book, What To Say When You Talk To Yourself, by Dr. Shad Helmstetter. It cost $8. Read the book and practice the strategies in it. You are a very special person of God. God seems to ask something of all of us but in different ways. No one ever said that life is easy. It is our attitude and how we approach or accept the challenges that we are given. Taking a look at your diet might be helpful too. You need to make sure you have a balanced diet so you are getting the vitamins and minerals that your body needs. Autism is definitely challenging and doctors and scientists don't have answers so it is up to you to keep searching and look beyond the norm. This is a great place to get support and encouragement. You are not alone. God is there but when you have negative energy, you will not feel his presence. Look at all you have to offer not what you can't do. The glass is half full not half empty. Believe in yourself.
Susan

God does love you :). Remember God so loved th world that He gave his one and only Son so that we may believe in Him. He provied and gave His Son for us-and even while we were dead in our sins. It's the enemy that causes disease, turmoil,etc.. all that is negative. I use to blame God for all the bad that happened to me and because of all the bad that happened to me by my own father, mother. It's really damaged me now in the present because of what they did to me I am suffering (mental & emotional limitations)that is affecting me physically BUT I've been working hard on changing that by as Susan had stated: diet, exercise seems to be very importatnt, and observing what I'm saying to myself and to say loving, comforting thoughts to myself. You are sooooo specail to God :)-God loves you sooo much :) and I know this because it is written in the Scriptures. I understand where your coming from I too suffered a great deal as I mentioned. What i did is i changed my attitude and my behavior and started reading the Scriptures on His love and grace for me and I also realized not just for me but for everyone God so much loves every person whether we deserve it or not. I also started thanking God for the present: like being alive and able to walk, talk, see, etc. and thankful for my mom and dad,etc... i'm thankful for the present time. i hope this helps you. I could blame God because he did not make me look like Brad Pitt. I could blame him because he did not give me a voice like Pavarrati. I could blame hime because he did not make me a great painter like Michaelangelo. It doesn't make any difference. We must all "play the cards we are dealt" so to speak.

Maybe you have hear this before, but I think we should "pray as if everything depends on the Lord, and work as if everything depends on us". Then we need to practice gratitude for what we have and what we do achieve. And finally, we need to forget ourselves and focus on helping others. Then our lives will be full and we will have joy.

MrCleveland

I wrote this question after many hours of crying, and pleading. Though the Lord has not chosen to heal me, I do believe he will somehow glorified by my situation and during that time he will give me the grace and strength to get through and hopefully one day overcome this OCD. I hope I will be able to one day help others suffering.

I hear your pain and frustration. I understand the questions of WHY? because I have it. I just want to tell you NEVER GIVE UP ON GOD. He is the only One who is there when we are alone, in our darkest hour.

He may not cure you but he will use you if you let him.

hello there!! Im new to this and when read your sharing my heart went out to you. Firstly, wondering how you are now? Have things improved? I hope so....

YOur zstory really moved me as I myself have and still am in a constant state of worry and anxiety about many things but mainly about my loved ones and the thought of causing harm.

I understand that these thoughts can be very very scary and seem very real when you experience them. I understand how scary it is when you tell soemone for fear of their reaction to your situation,,

YOU are NOT mad.... just a very very kind, considerate person who happend to be extremely sensitive.
I believe TRULY that GOd has chosen certain people (Me and you) to suffer this... although unfair... it is his way!!!!
Try to accept the things that you cannot change.... and believe that god is with you even tho sometimes you may not feel that he is.

Mr cleveland and adonaisown,

I happen to agree with Steve. Many great points Steve. We are who we are. Bad things happen to good people and God is a just God for He causes it to rain on both the good and the bad people.

Here'something that God told the great Apostle Paul after Paul begged God on several occasions to heal him "My grace is sufficient for you...for it is in your weakness that my strength is made perfect..."(2 Cor.12:9-10)

At Psalms 51:15-17
15 O Lord, open my lips,
And my mouth shall show forth Your praise.
16 For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You do not delight in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise.

Praise God in your affliction just as Job did. Relax and stop trying to fix yourself, and let Him fix you. You can do nothing in your own strength. You keep bad mouthing God for your circumstances and make him out to be the bad guy, and He might ask you where you were when He set every star in its place by speaking them and everything else into existence. While at the same time, forming man with His own hands and breathing the breath of life into man to make him a living should and every breath that you take is only because of each new mercy that He extends to you by exhaling. If you truly believed in God, you would know these things and instead of condemning him you might be freely giving Him thanks and praise.

If you believe in God and you have a clean slate, (Mat. 6:16-18) pray earnestly or diligently seek Him (Heb.11:6) and then let Him handle it.

These are the conditions to answered prayer. You must believe in Him. You must earnestly seek His face, you must have a clean slate. Your pray request must be in Jesus name. (John 14:13) Get those things in order and then you will see that it is in your weakness that His strength is made perfect.

Here's another tip, rather than bringing a rebellious and hateful spirit toward God, strive to approach Him as His child in need.

If you are not a Christian this advice is not intended for you. If you are a Christian, you need to figure out why you didn't know these things.

God's blessings to all!
All for His praise, glory and the joy it gives Him.

Hugs, In His Love >:D<
