How to get encouragement for OCD
Leave him alone, Satu. You are putting expectations on him. If he's not able to do this, then don't pressure him. Find your support outside of your relationship such as with a trusted friend, or with a therapist that you see once a week or once a month.
If you didn't have this expectation of him you would not be bothered by his inability to praise you.
Also, praise yourself. You be the one to give yourself credit for your victories. Go to the mirror and look into your eyes and really praise all your hard work. Even those things that seem "small" to you. They are all significant.
But don't put so much emphasis on anyone else. It's not fair to them and will stress the relationship unnecessarily.

Thank you, Boon. You're probably right and it is unnecessary expectations that I'm putting on him. I'm just so used to this in in my own family, that it'd be nice.
I talk about these things with my best friend and I'll concentrate on getting my encouragement from her and my other family. First of all, from myself. I'll try to take more time to praise myself and see if it helps and try to expect less of others.
Thank you again for your help.
