Birth control pills.
I am on birth control pills and have gained a lot of weight and cant seem to lose it. I dont know if it is the birth control or my anti depressant but I am too scare to get off my anti depressant right now but feel i can get off my birth control pills. Has anyone had any experince with birth control pills and gaining weight and also getting off them and losing weight? I am hoping this will help me lose my weight. I am 5'1 and 123 pounds. I used to be 100 pounds. That was perfect for me. It seems low but remember I am really short. Anyway, some feedback would be nice. Thank you ladies!

I do not know how old you are, but when I was in my early twenties I started taking birth control pills and did gain about 15 lbs. I went from 110 to 125. I have maintained 120-125 for years. It is likely a combo of the pills and aging. In my 30s, and now 40s, I have tried two different SSRIs, Prozac and Lexapro. Prozac made me gain about 15 lbs. I was told that Lexapro was "weight neutral, but at about 5 months I gained 15 lbs. I know for sure it is the SSRIs. They really help the depression but I cannot deal with the weight gain. I take Wellbutrin with no side affects. Ask you doctor about that.

I am 24. Im sure it is a combo of pristiq and the birth control pills. I am getting off the birth contol pills because I am not ready to get off the anti depressants. My sisters and my mom are all fromm 105 to 115 pounds. So I don't know if it is the getting older part. I have been thin my whole life till I started the meds together early this year.
