I am using self-talk this evening and believing that I will feel better again. I need to look ahead and not look back or at my present situation or feelings. I need to remember that I will feel better soon. My appetite is terrible right now-due to the nausea off and on...one thing I am noticing is that the nausea is MUCH better than it has been all week! I noticed more dizziness today, and I think that is a lot of anxiety because I feel so anxious. I am going to take one day at a time!
Still keeping the faith! :)

OMG Alex86,

I thought of posting something soooo similiar a few wks ago, but just couldn't explain it as good as you. Yes, yes, yes, I know the "brain sound" your'e talking about (silly, that's how I explain it...) but, I've noticed when I am stressed, I've focused on it and it actually sounds louder!!! I think the same thing "oh know, that's all I hear, this is going to drive me crazy...." but, I've kept busy and told myself over and over that I will be fine, Im a little stressed, possibly some ear congestion...etc. etc. Thank you so much for posting this!

The nausea has ceased--thank God! It is not nearly as bad as it was all week. I have been feeling okay, but the anxiety is probably more of the problem now than the fluid in ears. :(
I can actually feel the wax in my left ear, either breaking up, or moving or something so that may be the fluid drying up, I assume (?) I can really feel that moving feeling in my left ear. I have no ear pain though, and have not had ear pain during this entire 3-4 week journey!! I still don't feel comfortable driving or anything because of fear of getting the terrible dizzy feeling with the pounding heartbeat! I think I actually scare myself into a panic attack when the dizziness comes on!It's like a lightheaded feeling, that just comes and goes away, and the docs said that it was due to the fluid. I am happy that I do feel somewhat better, although I was beginning to give up on the antibiotic and ask for another one! LOL I am still thinking about doing that because I want all of the symptoms to go away!!!
Is it anxiety or fluid? Am I making it worse??
Probably. :?

BookofPsalms...I think it is more a case of anxiety now...I really do believe that...

That lightheaded feeling, as well as, the pounding heart sounds just like anxiety to me...

The ear problems usually come and go...I think they are pretty much gone, and that you are experiencing nothing but "anxiety"...

Get that anxiety level down, and I guarantee you that your symptoms will disappear completely!!!

I pray this answered your question...God Bless

I get this alll the time!!!
Vertigo(fluid in middle ear) runs in my family..Its terrible but definetly not lethal!!!
Bookofpsalms..You say you feel it more driving....thats how mine is too..but Ive come to figure that its just anxiety mixed with the sinus infection...I assoiciate driving with getting more dizzy and of course my mind trys to make me thing that I really am going to pass out etc.

DMP720, it is great to hear from you! Well, I think it is a combination...well, I KNOW it is a combination of sinus and anxiety. I feel much better with the fluid situation. I went back to the doc again this past week and they re-checked my ears and one was completely dried up but the left ear still had some fluid in there. I went back because I was having lots of symptoms but the doctor said that it was all anxiety now. I am just trying to understand how/why anxiety gets so out of control when I become sick with something minor.I tend to deal with the anxiety in the beginning and then the depression- and once the depression surfaces, I find that I have lots of symptoms and it sometimes takes weeks for them to go away. One of the main symptoms is weakness/fatigue. I feel that I could doze off to sleep during the day and I am normally wide awake during the day. I wake up at night feeling uneasy, and can feel my heartbeat. I wake in the mornings and my heart is beating fast and have the sweaty palms, feet, nausea, IBS...you name it. I have lost weight and don't want to lose any more weight! I went from 135 that I have maintained for about 8 months, to 132 3 weeks ago, to 130 at doctor's appointment, to 126 at my last visit! It's because I can not eat when I am this way. I try, but I just don't have a good appetite. I really want to wake up and just be back to my normal self.
Thanks for your reply DMP!

to Book of Psalms,
I have had fluid in my right ear on and off my whole life. Always having sinus and mucus congestion issues.

There are times when it built up too much and would clog up my ear to the point of partial deafness for periods that lasted months. I am having that slightly this month.

It's nothing to freak out over, it's literally just mucus. I'd advise staying away from dairy products. Drink more water, get exercise. Anything that keeps the lymph system moving will help. Of course I need to take my own advice because I'm not doing well right now myself. I had a migraine aura today from not eating properly or drinking enough water.

p.s. I should say I had my ears tested many years ago, and they found the bones in my middle ear did not meet properly which is also probably responsible for the periodic fluid that gets in there and gives me minor deafness. There is no way to fix the bones except through surgery which I won't do because it's minor enough.
