One thing I've had trouble with is the idea of eliminating troubling or scary thoughts that lead to anxiety, mainly because I can't find any.

I'm basically nauseated from the time I wake up until I go to sleep, I don't really fear this at all, I've been like this for years and it's just an inconvenience since I often have to vomit. As much as I search there are no thoughts that exacerbate this problem, it is simply always there.

Right now I just ate my breakfast, which I have to eat very slowly to keep it down. I feel extremely nauseas at the moment but I'm actually quite relaxed. In this case what is one to do? I've learned to relax my body and just "flow" with the symptoms, but this has never actually made the symptoms go away. I went from being a nervous wreck with horrible symptoms to relaxed and laid back with horrible symptoms..... the later is obviously a better situation to be in, but I'm still nearly disabled from the symptoms.

As much as I have let go of fighting the symptoms they are all still there, I'll be dizzy, trembling, vomiting throughout the day etc.

Have you seen a doctor about the constant nausea?

Yes, I've had all sorts of tests and physically there is nothing wrong.

You could have allergies, you may want to try an elimination diet or short fast. A regular doctor probably wouldn't be able to help you with this though - you'd need to see an alternative doctor or holistic doctor to help you out with that.

Out of curiosity what do you usually eat?

I've gone the holistic route and done elimination diets. I eat just about everything except sugary foods and junk food, I'm big on eating healthy.

Interestingly the problem does not go away without eating, I feel nauseas all the time, it's as if the "vomiting switch" in my brain got stuck in the on position years ago. I fall asleep holding back the nausea at night and wake up running to the bathroom to dry heave. Every doctor and specialist has pretty much been baffled.

Xanax in high doses does help take the edge off for a few hours but not completely, it is panic related as it gets much worse when I try to go out to the store, to run errands etc. and it gets completely out of control if I want to visit family, go out with the girlfriend or do basically anything even slightly out of the routine. Nevertheless I still feel sick to some degree all the time.

I just felt nauseous day in and day out for 4 months and i started loosing it. Ended up going to a psychiatrist and he gave me some meds. But that didn't take away the nausea. He kept telling me to when i feel it, immediately focus on what i'm doing and live my life. I did it over and over and over and over again and eventually it settled down & went away. My husband had been dealing with nausea for years now. He was nauseous day in day out for a long time now he is starting to get some good days but still getting cramping pain. Doctors can't find anything "wrong". He finds keeping moving and focusing on what he needs to do has helped the most. i think your right it's like a switch gets turned on in the brain. I'm glad you have calmed down while still dealing with it, that shows your a really strong person. I really believe you will get an ending to this. Keep working with the doc that is giving you the xanax or find a Psychiatrist if you don't have one. What's good about them is they can work with your head but still understand your body symptoms.

oh one other thing you might try, i know you've seen doctors and had a lot of tests but you might want to consider seeing who ever is the head of gastroenterology for the hospital in your closest large city. They get cases that the local doc's can't figure out. Between them and a psychiatrist maybe you can get some support and insight.

Thank you for the advice

Yep, it's definitely better to suffer calmly than to suffer while completely freaking out, which is how I used to be. I figure that is at least some progress, even if slow.

I am considering a neurologist visit ASAP as well, most doctors have told me this isn't necessary but to me it does seem like there could be a neurological problem making my whole panic disorder feel that much worse.

i think that is pretty great progress. And good luck with the neurologist, i think your right to check it out even if the other doctor doesn't think so. If nothing else at least your "crossing it off your list". If that doctor was dealing with your symptoms they wouldn't be so quick to say that.
