Okay so I'm 18 a senior in high school. I wake up every morning wondering when I'm going to have another panic attack. I always have these terrible thoughts that I'm going to lose my mind while I'm driving or have to be rushed to the hospital because I suddendly went crazy. or I'm going to have a sezier when I've never had one before in my life and I feel like I constantly need someone ther to say Maria your fine none of that is going to happen to you and it never will. I know that's true and I try to tell myself but I guess I just don't want to belive myself because I'm not an expert. Any advice?

Maria,

Anxiety WILL NOT HURT YOU! It's uncomfortable but it will not hurt you. We are very sensitive people and have a bad habit of worrying. Continue to comfort yourself as a mother would to a child. Soothe yourself all the time - everytime you feel scared. Breathe into the sensations in your body and allow them to be there. Allow the thoughts to come and go. The problem we really have is our resistance to what our minds say and our resistance to the feelings in our body. If we did not resist we would not feel so badly. Practice allowing. Do not talk back to these thoughts, other than to soothe yourself. These thoughts are all lies. (You have my word on this!)And, you can tell yourself this as well.

Eveyone, whether they are phobic or not, have intrusive thoughts. Those who are not phobic know to just dismiss the thoughts. That is your ultimate goal.

Keep coming back and read other very helpful posts from others.

You are ok exactly as you are and I encourage you to affirm this many times a day. It's true. You let go by allowing, Maria. Practice this.

My best to you.
