Getting ready to try Celexa!
I'm tired of messing around. I went to my doctor and got Celexa. I've been taking Klonopin for the past couple weeks and that helps some, but I don't want to rely only on a tranquilizer. So, we'll see how it goes. I've heard a lot of good things about Celexa.

Well I tried it 4 hours ago and I'm not freaking out so I guess I'm going to be OK. woo-hooo!!
I'm so proud of myself. For me this is huge. The last time I tried Lexapro a year ago I had constant panic all day long. I know this is just day one, but the fact that I'm not having a horrible panic reaction today tells me that this one might just work.
I am feeling sort of sleepy and a little "buzzed" but I hear that will wear off. Now the question will be if it helps with my anxiety. Time will tell.
For now just getting through day one is a huge accomplishment.
I only took 1/4 of a tablet. I think I'll do that for 4 days and then start taking the 1/2 that she prescribed. She said it was OK to take 1/4 for the first few days. So that's 5mg of Celexa.

Good for you Faith!
I know where you're coming from since trying a different medication is very scary. I'm currently weaning off Lexapro to try Zoloft on the weekend and will also start with a 1/4 of a pill...back to my cutting board. Like you I'm afraid of drugs and this is only the second one that I've tried but I'm getting desperate and am getting tired of struggling with all my symptoms so it's time to take a chance right? The symptoms that I'm trying to alleviate are nausea, lightheadedness (including fainting), shaking and panicky feelings.
I think your attitude of taking it one day at a time is a great one and I will think of that when I try my new drug on the weekend.
Does the Klonopin work for you? Are you still able to function with it? I tried it over Christmas and it just seemed to knock me out and make me very lethargic (at only about 1/4 or 1/2 a pill).
Let me know if you have any success with Celexa. Good luck!

I am currently on 40 mg of the generic version of Celexa. It's the third medication I've tried. I started at 20mg, then 30 and now 40. It has worked wonders for me. It makes me kind of sleepy so I take mine before I go to bed. The worst side effect I've had is weight gain, but since it's working for me I'm afraid to try something new. Good luck with the Celexa and hope you have as much success as I have had.

Well I'm on day three. . . I almost didnt take it today. The reason is I had a panic attack yesterday but my husband finally reminded me that I have panic attacks without the medication so how can I blame it on the celexa. LOL
I thought about taking it at night because it makes me a little sleepy but I'm going to try it one more time during the day and see how it goes.
