I recently started taking zoloft to help ease my anxiety so I can get a good night sleep. It says on the bottle not to drink alcohol while taking that medicine. Once in a while I have a couple few drinks (socially) - does anyone know why your not supposed to drink alcohol. I don't want not be able to have social drinks because I am on this medicine.

I think it just makes the alcohol effects greater.

My husband takes Zoloft and he has a beer or three once in awhile, or a glass of wine at night. He is not a heavy drinker, and it doesn't seem to bother him.
