Prozac {Fluoxetine}
Hey everyone... its been a long time since i have longed in here... But for you pepople that know me in the past knows what i gone thru and experienced with this anxiety. Since September i been takeing Prozac 10mg and got some what better. I was agoraphobic and started going out last November. So its a good thing but then i the farthest i could travel away from home is 45mins or less. So my doctor wanted to raise my dose to 20mg, so hopefully i would be fully better. I just stared the 20mg 2 days ago and i have been really super duper sleepy, lazy, and just tired. I dunno if its the medication kicking in or its just all in my head. But my problem now is that i fear of going out cuz im afraid im gonna have a reaction from taken a hirer dose that im not so used to. Does this make sence. And i dont know what to do?
Shelly,
I can relate totally to how you feel on this medicine. Just last week i switched to lexapro from sarafem which is prozac (fluoxetine), which i had been taking for about 3 yrs. (20 mg). I was tired of feeling tired, lazy and unmotivated, besides when my cycle came it didn't help the pmdd, premenstrual dysphorice disorder, long for
severe pms. I felt stabilized and content when i wasn't cycling but the med was doing me no good when i needed it. This is my experience, everyone's different. Now with lexapro, i feel
better and my psychotic hormone fluxuation is much better too. it's hard to go by what someone else says cause each med is different for everybody,. but you sound like me when i was on sarafem (prozac) Hope this helps. Leap

Hi everyone! I'm new here but not to the topic. Leap:-) it feels that you wrote about me. I've been taking Prozac for 5 years it was working wonderfully. Then last September stopped working. So my doctor increased my dosage from 20 mg to 40 mg. Well... I don't really know. It seems to be the same issue as yours. Around my period Before during or even after a few days, almost every other month I just get anxiety attack, horribly nervous stomach. I don't know maybe I should just Switch it to something else. But I don't really like to try out new meds. So if anyone has an idea. I'm so happy I foun you guys. Gabi
I am faking 40 mg of fluoxetine. I am feeling the same out of control emotional swings around the hormonal times. I would love to find a medication thAt would help me feel less tense n not so crazy around that time. I'm not sure about what to try w Prozac for anxiety tho. Thanks for ur posts. It helps me to see that I'm not the only one goin through moments like these.
not sure but maybe you could take med at bedtime and simply get a good nights sleep. as far as pms etc...UGH=just have to tell yourself this too shall pass...and be extra kind and compforting=maybe sleep earlier those days with the sleepy effectsof new med. ask a whole foods or vitamin cottage place if anythg they have that could help with tie of the month....then be extra careful seeing how it goes. i tried progesterone creme once and OMG it did just the opposite to me than all the people that it helped. so just know you are unique and pay attention to anythg extra you may try for help.
