I come from a family of hypochidriasis. So many people in my family diagnosis themselves with things they don't have - then tell everyone they have terrible things. I also have had several deaths in my family. Even some of the hypochondriacs passed away very young. So now I worry terribly that I am one of them and I will die young too.

I should also mention that I am from a family of smokers, drinkers and they don't exersize. I am not a smoker, a social drinker and I exersize all of the time. I take vitamins and eat healthy. But I have anxiety about dying young. Most of the deaths in my family or illnesses were "self inflicted" but I can't help but dwell on them.

Can anyone else relate to family history hypchondriasis???

Ellkay...I think I have read every health book at the library....I did this for years. I had myself diagnosed with every illness under the sun, and I didn't have any of them.

So, one day I decided to stop reading those health books. They were doing me much more harm than good....

I began obsessing over my health and a very young age. I am now 46, and I haven't developed any of those diseases!!!!

I suggest you tell yourself the truth for a change. You are healthy, and are going to live to be really old.

You are living a very healthy lifestyle, and I really wasn't taking that good care of my body... Stay out of the library, and off the health pages on the net...You are going to be fine...God Bless
