I have been recently taken off my progesterone hormone due to side effects. I am experiencing dizziness. Has anyone used any over the counter herbs or teas that work well for dizziness? Has anyone tried meclizine? With my anxiety I am afraid of any anxiety producing side effects.
Thanks-
Shelly

Hey Shello, I used to be on meclizine for my off balance and dizziness before I knew that I was dealing with an anxiety disorder. I thought I was dealing with an inner ear problem most of 2008, or something was going on with my brain. Then I had all kinds of tsts ran and all of them came back negative. The doctors and specialists had no idea what was causing my dizziness, so they put me on meclizine. I think I was on it most of last year. It would help with my dizziness and off balance for a little while but it would always come back. Since I found out that my symptoms were because of my anxiety, I stopped taking meclizine. I've been on an antideppressant for 2 months, and it seems to have helped with the dizzy/off balance for the most part. I mean it still comes, but it's not as bad or as often as it used to be. Good luck! I hope you finds some comfort with that.

Dear Shello,

The dizziness is caused by the anxiety. Once, you use the program to lower your anxiety, then, you will find the dizziness dissipating!!!!

I do pray that you have the program...God Bless!!!

shello, I have recently taken meclazine for some dizziness I have been combating for about two months. It did not seem to help me much, but made me really tired. However it also, did not increase any anxiety for me, so dont be afraid to give it a try, just make sure you have time for a nap :) I am going to and Ear nose and throat specialist next week to see what they can do, I just can't seem to stop feeling like I am falling to the left all the time and dizzy in my head, not vertigo where the room spins. I know when my anxiety is high it exasperates this already existing condition. Good luck and if you find something that works for you, let me know.... Tee

Dear Tee,
I keep fluid behind my eardrums. My physician mentions this to me every time I see him.

I, also, feel like I am off-balance, like I gonna fall either to the right or left. Not a very comfortable feeling, huh????

A little like motion sickness all the time! Well not one ever died of that! Yeah, I am not expecting any miricles at the ear nose and throat guy. But what the heck, peace of mind, knowing I went, and who knows? He might even give me some answers?!?!

I also have a motion sickness feeling...my docs all say its caused by my panic and anxiety. But my question is, even after my panic attack is done I am still feeling dizzy or lightheaded for a few days. The docs say once I stop thinking about it it will stop. I had a cat scan about 2 yrs ago for the same thing...just a little confused and scared!

I hope I'm doing this (quote) right, oh yeah dizziness is a big part of anxiety, at least it was for me. I went to the Doc a couple of times, low and behold he couldn't find anything wrong with me. The program took care of it and,now I'm dizzy free.

My dizziness is starting again. Wondering if it could be sinus/allergy related. Of course, my anxiety is flaring up again to. Who knows~
