My doctor percribe be to go on klonopin at bed time. I wrote a post on this a while back. So far have been too chicken to try it. So this weekend I have felt awful! really bad. So my husband says "just try it" So last night, Saturday I took a half of one, .25, I woke up so groggy at about 1 am and was just in and out of it till I finally got up at 7:00 I was groggy all morning, and my chest and back hurt bad, like body aches, I was dizzier then normal (one of the reasons I am taking it is that I am so dizzy and have constant achiness in my ribs chest and back) But this was increased from I am assumming the klonopin. However, it is 12:00 now, and I don't feel quite as bad, and I am definately not anxious. So my question is, does it take some time to get use to and should I try another dose tonight? I know some medicine like lexapro or paxil take time but I thought that klonopin was kind of like xanax and worked withing a couple of hours. I am kind of scared to take it again if I feel as bad as I did when I woke up, on the other hand this afternoon I am feeling a little better. Please someone with some expirance w/ klonopin write me with some answers or suggestions. Thanks Tee

Tee...I have taken Klonopin in the past. If you will take the dosage prescribed and not read the side effect, then, I am sure it will help you!!!

This drug is in the same family as xanaxs!!!!
It has a longer life-span, which is a good thing!!!!

It may take a few days for your body to become adjusted to it. But, I do encourage you to give it a chance!!!!

I never post on the med forum, but, I do know about these types of drugs!!!!

I pray this helps...God Bless!!!

I would completely agree with you, but for once in my life, I did not google it or read the info that comes with it. I did ask for some others experiances on this forum. But with no luck. So this was just cold turkey ;) I don't know, Mentally I have felt really good today, but I am sooo dizzy and my body aches from my head to my hips. Maybe I have a a touch of the flu or something and it was just bad timming. I don't know. I really got myself siked last night thinking that this would finnaly help and I would have a good day today. And like I say mentally I am fine, Just feel crudy physically, really crudy! Thank you for replying. You reply to a so many comments. I hope you know what
good support you are for so many of us here. Thank you for that. Have a good night. Tee

I don't know if this will help, but I took Klonopin for a while also. I took it along with an antidepressant and an anti-anxiety drug. The Klonopin was great for a while because it helped me to fall asleep and stay asleep, but then,I went off of it because I felt groggy all of the time and felt I was sleeping better by then and on a better sleep schedule. For me it was a good experience and helped me to get on track again. It also forced me to be more assertive in getting my children to bed, which in the end is what I found I needed to begin with in order to get proper sleep.

Hi - I am new to the discussion board but I saw the question about Klonopin and I can share my story with you. I have been on it for over 10 years. I dose at 1.0mg in the morning and 1.0mg in the evening. I also take Effexor 150mg BID and 0.5 Risperdol at night. Although I still struggle with mood issues, the Klonopin saved my life. It has a stable effect w/o any spikes of euphoria or halucinations and I find it to be very agreeable with the regiment of meds I am on. I wouldn't be afraid to take it but I don't think I will ever be able to take myself off. :-(
