PAXIL

Hey AudMJ, I took Paxil for one week, and at the end of that week I had this heavy deppression fall over me. It made me feel more sad, and a little weird. I called my doctor, and he took me off immediately. My psychiatrist told me that he didn't even like Paxil, he never priscribes it to any of his patients. I have been on Lexopro for almost 2 monthes, it took a while before I noticed a change, but it worked for me. It never gave me a depressed and sad feeling like Paxil did. I did have a few side effects, but it has seemed to work pretty good, and I'm only taking 10mg. So good luck in finding a better antideppressant. I hope you get off of Paxil!

About ten years ago, I was administered Paxil. ---Since childhood, I had been terrified of storms---after I started taking Paxil, storm clouds don't even phase me now. There was a problem with it, because it wasn't helping my depression, doctors kept increasing my dosage to the point I was given beyond the legal limits. I had to be hospitalized to see what would work. I was given Zoloft, which gave me feelings I have never or since had (very angry and violent outbursts). I kept telling them, "I need to come off this medication." After the medication showed it's true colors, I was put on Abilify. I call it my miracle medication. Because of it, I am now taking my life back.

I have done well on Remeron (Mirtazapine) at a very low dose (3.5mg that.s 1/4 if the smallest pill 15mg) and clonozapam .25 Am .25 noon .5night. 1mg total.
I found that the Kolonopin (SP?) helps me with the depression as much as the anxiety. I just read a study that said that combining clonozapam with other anti-depressants helps with depression. For what thats worth.
I also got a ton of information about nutrition and other stuff that has helped at least as much as the drugs from Josh at www.anxietymentor.com. I was neat to talk to someone who has been there and learned a bunch about how to get through this.
BTW I started driving in cars with oter people and you know what? It is actually nice to have someone to talk to. Turns out I am actually outgoing and talkative, who knew. I haven't been that way since this started when I was a kid.
