I get migraines from stress/being sick...they are like all over aches in my head. And they mess with my vision a bit.
But sometimes I'll just get a shooting pain or two in my head just randomly going about my day. My doctor and nurse reassured me that it was nothing and this was a common symptom of anxiety or is a migraine. The problem is that it causes more anxiety cuz my greatest fear is brain problems. I remember getting these symptoms more mildly when I had anxiety way back in high school.
Does anyone else get these symptoms??? I get other symptoms too, but these are the most scary for me.
Headache Pains...
I've had migraines with the same shooting pain here and there for over 20 years. I do have a perscription for migraines (have been on the same pills since I was in junior high). I used to have migraines daily when I was a teenager they have lessened since then. Now I only have to get my script filled once a year. What you are describing is exactly what I get. I used to freak out about it like you. I used to think I was going to die of a brain anyurism. I dont' know why maybe becuase I've had them for so long but I don't think about that anymore. I also had optical migraines when I was on birth control pills, I would temporarily go blind until I could get one of my migraine pills into me. It would start out seeing stars then little by little my vision would go until all I saw was blackness. As soon as I got off of the bc pills these optical migraines went away. Occasionally I do have blurred vision with anxiety and with migraines.
I know exactly what you mean.I also have a few migraines from time to time. They were awful a few months ago.I threw up from the pain and ended up in the E.R. twice.Since then my headaches have gradually declined due to this program. It was all stress.I'm sure you will be feeling better soon. What has helped me the most is running.I run at least 30 minutes a day which takes off the stress.I highly recommend some type of exercise.
I forgot to mention that while i was in the ER the last time, the doctor gave me compozene. He failed to mention the side effect until after i had taken it.Can you guess what the side effect was?ANXIETY!it got rid of my headache but I could not stop moving for two days my anxiety was so bad.If you get the chance to take compozene...don't take it!
I get these to, I was told that they are called ice pick headaches and they are common in migraine sufferers. I copied a link so you could read about them! http://headaches.about.com/od/...pain/a/ice_picks.htm
Thanks everyone! Glad I'm not alone! It's just scary sometimes.

Wow! Thanks for that link! That is exactly what I experience! I haven't gotten them since I was a teenager when I first had anxiety...then I was fine for a lot of years....and they've since come back with my anxiety coming back! UGH. I am so glad to know that there is a term for this. It describes it so perfectly and hopefully it will get less and less as I move more into the program and learn to de-stress more effectively.
