I've been suffering from chronic tension headaches for the past few years. I went on and off antidepressants fot the past five years. I just recently came off lexapro a few weeks ago. My headaches return and reminded me why I went on these drugs. Does anyone have these same headaches or remedies to relieve the tension w/o drugs???

Ive been having them the past 4 months and they recently turned into full blown migrains, I had an MRI and they found I have migraine syndrome and it's affected me alot.
They've prescribed me diff things but nothing seems to work, and I'm scared of taking the Elavil 25mg they prescribed me last week.

One thing that helps is a nice back and/or neck rub if maybe you can go get a massage, alot of places that give massage have a special kind just for tension headaches and neck pains.

Also, I was surprised when I tried "Head On", I rub a a good amount all over my forehead and on my temples and just close my eyes and relax and it seems to help a little bit.

I've been trying to find more to help but been coming up short, let me know if you find anything helpful and I'll do the same :) Good luck and God bless.

Oh! another thing..
I heard that acupuncture helps ALOT! I myself have not tried it, but after hearing good things I'm thinking about maybe considering it and doing so.

Hey Heather. I've been using tiger baum and applying it as needed over my forehead. It works right away. The peppermint oil didn't work as well.

I have been having a lot of stress-related headaches lately as well, as my life seems to be stress-abundant over the past while. I haven't done anything except take Tylenol, cover my eyes with a cool towel, and mostly listen to a relaxation tape. They say if we can reduce our stress levels in some way, this will help a lot. So I have taken to relaxation techniques and meditation to help me out. I haven't quite got it all down yet, but I hope this works in the end. Just to say you are not alone in this for sure. Good luck. Rob.
