Hi,
I read that 5 HTP helped along with synthetic melatonin helped you sleep. I plan on asking my Dr when I go to him. I take a daily multivitamin, calcium with Vit D, vitamin C 1000mg, and I started Magnesium chelate(3 daily) and I was surprised how I don't have any knee pain since I started it. I also take primrose oil, Probiotics, zoloft 200mg daily and xanax 2 times daily. I took it today and I am still anxious. mY cholesterol went up so I take Pravachol and Zetia. When I stated this program, they offered me the feel good vitamins and I agreed to try them. Is anyone using them and are they as good as they say? I am planning on writing down all I take and ask my Dr in March (internist)if i am on too much. i found a bottle of liquid anti oxidants that many recomment and it has several things in it and I have taken it for a few days. I sometimes wonder if we would be better off with no meds. Is anyone on Abilify? If so, do you like it? IO realize that each person is different and different meds for different folks.
Have a great day, June

Do the Good Days have 5-htp? If so be careful taking that with Zoloft without permission.

Hi jcat, the link above is about 5-HTP and contraindications with every prescription med you are taking. If you scroll up a bit you'll see the precautions. Faith is right in every aspect of this one.

Way to go Faith!

Hi faith,
I am too in the same boat. I'm very tiny and my body seems to react very strong to medication. Iv had terrible experiences when starting or switching an anti-depressant. Basicly iv learned that I KNOW MY OWN BODY, even if the doctor prescribes you something...tell him you want to cut the dose in half to start with and see how you do. Be vigilant, and make sure doctors undersatnd that you react more to medication than most people. Now , when it comes to 5htp it is the "supplement" alternative. Its one or the other. Dont take any supplement of this sort if you are on an ssri. If you have anxiety, the fear of having a reaction will MAKE you have one. Try to talk to yourself, calm yourself down. if you see that it is not working for you plz give medication a try just start slowly. I personally did very good on 10mg of prozac which is basicly a child dose. I did not have any side effect and felt full of energy and very happy.
Good luck and hope this helped

FaithTX,

Did you just take one of the 50mg pills of 5HTP?
I'm considering the GOod Days offered from StressCenter and the mood formula has 50 mg of 5HTP, but I only take it once daily. I've read other bottles of 5HTP suggest you take it multiple times a day...just wondering if the one dosage of 50mg would be fine for me. I'm very sensitive to medications.
Thanks.

I took just one. I don't know anyone that is as sensitive to medications as me! My neighbor takes 200 a day.

I did let a friend of mine at work try it too. She has anxiety and depression, but more depression right now. She said she could feel something and it made her feel a little "buzzy" and then she slept SO good that night. She said she liked it but wouldn't want to take it all the time.

I hope that the Good Days works great for you.

I am sorry but I just now got your message. I have been away at meetings then came back sick with the flu. I do take one of gthe Feel Good Vitamins daily and at night I take 100mg of Zoloft. I do not see my Dr. until April and he may not like that I have done this but so far, so good. Write back.

Thanks for your reply. Glad it works for you. Just be sure and tell your doctor you're taking both.

Thanks. I plan on showing him the vitamins and discuss the program. I feel fine doing what I have done. I want off all the Zoloft and Zanax if possible.
