Mom of 6:
Guess it's been longer than I thought since I've been on the forums; I would of responded sooner had I been. What an AWESOME GOD we have :) Not only has He been with you and your family every step of this journey but He has given your father the strength to recover in a timely fashion. Hopefully, by now he is home closer to the family.
As for you and your brother, God had His hand in all of that as well. He forgave you probably much sooner than you forgave yourself ;) I am so glad you and your brother are spirital and mature enough not to let such a trying time come between your relationship. That happens so many times in families :(
Take care and God bless you!!

Hello again :) Today has been soooo relaxing! Thank you Lord for giving me "this day of rest"! I do realize now why I should take one day a week to focus on the meaning of "Sabbath" and it's importance! Church was such an uplifting for me today! I forgot the world around me and basqued in the wonders of "him" and praise and worship. It revived my soul :D. I've been so tired and grumpy lately. But I can put that behind me now. Dad is doing better and better everyday and it IS nice to have him so close to home. We take turns visiting and I am able to catch up on things here at home. I give the Lord all the glory!
Thank you all again for your prayers and support!

Love, in Christ Jesus

hey there Mom of 6... i'm just reading all this for the first time and i also want to encourage you... my husband is a minister and often we are called to ICU for prayer and comfort... let me just try another perspective and that is the perspective of your father... he, being VERY ill at the time, in ICU (that's why they call it that) most likely more than anything else, needs rest and the care of professionals who have studied, trained, and learned how to manage the very seriously ill patient... we HAVE to just TRUST GOD and the people he allows to care for our loved ones for that particular time... even thought it's hard to hear, sometimes the BEST thing for them is to just let them rest and heal... it really doesn't matter if we are there or not in person... the healing is of a supernatural kind and we are pretty much helpless... except to satisfy our conscience that "we were there suffering with them or for them???" how does that help anybody? i don't mean to sound cold... but you did the right thing to go home to your family and take care of your immediate resonsibilities while GOD used the trained professionals to care for your dad... i know it's hard to hear... but my dad was in ICU for 6 weeks and we were all frazzled... what good did that do? none... it was more of a demonstration of worry than one of faith... so i commend you for how you handled the situation... this may be coming a little late, and he is probably WAY healed and better by now... but i just wanted you to consider why you pay the outrageous doctor and hospital bills and then think you have to be there for everything to be ok??? granted there are times when some looney tunes come on the shift and you are not confident in their competence... by all means stay and do what you can to challenge their decisions, but for the most part, with all kinds of folks praying and believing... he's gonna be fine...
much LOVE,
kj
