Hello everyone... My wonderful boyfriend bought me an MP3 player because I told him I thought listening to music would help me in my "recovery"... I love music and I think its very motivational... Can some of you suggest some music that will keep me in good spirit... I'm very diverse and listen to basically anything... be it religious... hip hop... heavy metal... anything positive though... I would really appreciate anyone's thoughts and ideas... P.S. I pay for my downloads :D Just wanted to throw that one in there :p

Hi E-Lo,

If you like gospel:

<A HREF="http://www.christian-gospelmusiclyrics. ... yrics.html" TARGET=_blank>http://www.christian-gospelmusiclyrics. ... cs.html</A>

I need you now is an awesome song. If you go to the album and select the song you will hear a sample of how it sounds. Beautiful.

New Age:

CCM:

<A HREF="http://www.klove.com/music/listenonline.aspx" TARGET=_blank>http://www.klove.com/music/listenonline.aspx</A>
CD format purchases

Also a great place to get to the lyrics of any song they are currently playing and a great many other resouces.

CCM comes in many styles: Rock, Hip-hop, Ballads, the difference is the inspiration that you will get from may of the songs, my favorite is SCC. here is a dynamite player station on SCC web site:

<A HREF="http://www.stevencurtischapman.com/radio/frame.htm" TARGET=_blank>http://www.stevencurtischapman.com/radio/frame.htm</A> Select play, then the album desired for full version playing of all songs. Check out the Great Adventure Album: I will go there with you. It is so beautiful, inspiring and encouraging.

Now, your cup runneth over. :D

I have been listening to the CD, Ok Computer by Radiohead. Very mystic, trippy, calming, I don't know if it is touching me because of some memories or experiences but I find it equally as calming as my relaxation CD

Here is one that I love to hear. Biney English wrote this song. It is call "He never gave up".
Binney's brother Michael English also sings on this song.

E-Lo,

My absolute favorite band right now is called "Dream Theater." They are a band who play a mix of 70's progressive rock and modern heavy metal with a lot of deep lyrical content and sometimes over-the-top musical passages.

They have really helped me with overcoming my depression/anxiety in life. Some songs to look into are "The Spirit Carries On", and "I Walk Beside You" for some uplifting, inspirational stuff. They've also touched upon the subject of anxiety and mental health. Their album, "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence" has a second CD that is mind-blowingly cool. And on their album "Octavarium", they have a song called "Panic Attack."

Check 'em out!
