My psychologist today asked if I'd ever tried anti-seizure medication for anxiety. I told her no but wasn't sure why she asked because we got onto another subject.
I was Googling Temporal ADD (which she says I probably have) and found this site:
<A HREF="http://www.second-hand-news.com/temporal.html" TARGET=_blank>http://www.second-hand-news.com/temporal.html</A>
It mentions Temporal ADD and using anti-seizure meds. It also states that thos of us with temporal ADD are "often made worse by serotonergic medications (Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, etc". This may explain why I can't tolerate antidepressants.
So, I'm wondering if any of you take anti-seizure meds and what the side effects are like. . .
Temporal ADD and antiseizure meds
I have taken two anti-seizure meds, Topomax and Clonopin. Do you know which med they were suggesting? There are plenty of anti-seiz. meds prescribed that can treat various conditions. Depending on the strength and the type. For me, I took Topomax to prevent my migraines, yet it's also used as an anti-seizure. I didn't like how I felt the 1st few days. My body had to get used to it.
Clonopin was to help me sleep, and it's main purpose is anti-seizure. It knocked me out.
