So, I went to the Dr. again today...my blood pressure is 120/80, my blood-oxygen level is 99%. They put some pressure on my chest where I was complaining and it hurt, so the Nurse Practitioner thinks I have some swelling related to my cold that I had last month. I made an appointment today with a cardiologist though, per her recommendation. It'll be next week. So in the meantime, i'm going to remain positive and not worry about it :) I pray that I will turn out okay :)

Hi Jonesey--

I got your post on the naropathy topic, and decided to see what you wrote here. Yes, I can relate to the chest thing.

Like I said on the other post, the burning, tingling, and tightness showed up in different parts of my body. My heart was palpitating nightly, and was making me vomit.

I agree with the nurse too. I also spend a lot of time in front of the computer, since most of my work is done there. I know the problems started with sitting funny while at my PC. Then, being anxious about every little pain, and going to the doctor numerous times, I think aggravated it.

I started going back to my herbalist (who's also an RN), and she could see nerve damage. I also do more stretching ("Yoga for Christians" book), massage therapy is also a must for me. If you can find a chiropractic school in your area, they usually have a student clinic which is very affordable.

As for nutrition, if you have the Anxiety program, follow the advice in Chapter 5. In particular, a B-complex stress forumal is essential; and calcium-magnesium also, because they both nourish and calm the nervous system. And use a heating pad on your chest, to relax the muscles.

If you're still worried, of course see your doctor, to rule anything out. If they keep saying your fine, then you need to work on controlling your thoughts, so that your mind doesn't cause more tension.

Let me know how it goes, okay? Skip

Skipper,

Thank you as well for the awesome advice! So check this out...I did Yoga last night and started reading this book called "You Can Heal Your Life." I noticed that the pain was going away after I relaxed. And then...I wake up this morning and I pulled my upper back/shoulder/neck muscle! It hurts like heck today, but that's probably why my chest area had the pressure in the first place, right? To overcompensate for the tight muscles related to it?

So while i'm definitely in pain today, I am confident that my heart is not the problem :)

Jonesy--

That's great news! I'm glad you're feeling some relief. Like the nurse said earlier in this thread, I think like you, that the back pull affects the other nerves in your chest area.

If it makes you feel any better, I had this same injury as you--this morning! When I was getting out of bed I stretched and must have moved the wrong way. So, now I'm experiencing a little discomfort in other areas of my body today, including my back.

I try to focus on telling myself it's just a muscle pull, and that it will get better. Plus taking the deep breaths. That keeps me from panicking about it. And like you said, it goes away eventually.

I'm glad you're trying the yoga and reading positive books--all of these things will keep you feeling better. I'm so happy for your breakthrough:) Woo-hoo!! Skip
