Hey I am very convinced that there are many bipolar misdiganoses. This has always sprung alot of anxiety with me and my therapist says that anxiety CANNOT lead into anything else except anxiety. I understand how you feel though!!

Hi calmchange,
The only one who can tell you if you have bipolar II, is your Doctor and therapist. Bipolar don't make you go crazy, my Mother-in-law is bipolar, she lives a normal life.
The people and your therapist, has told you that if people think they are going crazy, then they are not, and they are right. I have been told, that people who go crazy, don't know it, so if you have to ask, then you are not.
Anxiety, will make you think you are going crazy.
The more you stress over it, the more anxiety, you get, the more you believe you are going crazy. I know it is a hard thing to go through. Are you doing the program? If you listen to it, you will see, most people thought they were going crazy, losing their mind. Also, if you read the post on here, some people have felt the same way, me included.
I also ask my Doctor, if I was going crazy, he told me the same thing people and your therapist has told you. He aslo said what is your address, phone number, etc: I told him, he said if you were crazy, you wouldn't know that. He was showing me, I wasn't losing my mind. My Pastor, also told me, I wasn't going crazy.
I also know, until you believe it, no matter, how many times someone tells you, you will not believe it. Can you counter the thoughts, with it is just anxiety?
I hope this helps some....

Hi Calmchange.
I have been diagnosed with BP II. BP II is less severe. For me my high is lots of energy, running around cleaning the house, talking fast, walking fast. No kind of far out stuff like gambling, drinking binges. Just high energy, but my lows can be really low. However, I was started on an MAIO antidepressant called EMSAM 9mg patch and I take lamictal. They are both mood stablizers and the last two months I have been exercising for an hour a day. I have had no down moments, which is great. Because when I was down I had suicidal thoughts. Now, I just have a little hight energy. You will not go crazy and the right medication will help. Both the meds I am on are mood stablizers and they have helped a lot.
Hope this helps.

My fiance was diagnosed as bipolar. I don't see it. My psychologist friend told me that to be accurately diagnosed a person the individual doing the diagnosis must witness you in an extreme manic state. Outside of that it's hit or miss. Whether my friend is right or not - it seems like an incredibly hardOriginally posted by calmchange:

Anxiety treatment, which you're probably doing right now, is what to focus on.
I've always found it VERY hard to focus on myself while looking up mental disorders. I would not do too much of that.
