Joys7,
Okay...I have used my new "working" light for 2 days now. I think it will take a week or two to really notice a difference, but I am very hopeful. I use it during my program "homework" time. I'll keep ya in the light loop!!

I just opened by box and decided to go right online and see if others have SAD. I take 10 mg Lexapro daily and it seems to help knock the edge off, but I still feel incapacitated somewhat by my mood. Please keep posting about whether the light and dawn simulators really help. I don't know anything about them, or where to purchase one. Are you all saying that this program doesn't work for us SAD sufferers? I can still send my kit back within 30 days. I live in NC

I also take 10 mg Lexapro and still seem to get depressed during these winter months. I hate the snow, which wouldn't be a problem since I live in Vegas, but, it snowed in Vegas this year! I was so upset, it led me to a string of panic attacks and now I'm with my parents in Southern Utah...in the snow haha

Have you tried tanning? You may already know this but for those of us who live in the North we are so sunshine deficient in the winter months that we can actually become vitamin d deficient, which can lead to SAD. Tanning beds are another way to get that same vitamin D that you would get naturally from the sun! I know some people don't believe in tanning but it helps in the winter.

Hi Holly J. and Mary Wargo,

I was so amazaed when I read about you guys getting anxious in the Spring and Summer! I have had this problem for many years. I hesitate to tell anyone because they would think I am really nuts! I dread the Spring coming soon. My anxiety kicks in and I start obsessing about all sorts of bad things happening. Once I get into the summer, about August, I start to feel a bit better because Fall and Winter are around the corner. I have been through therapy and tried so hard to discover why this happens, but I can't figure it out. Everyone else is so happy when the sun is shining and I pray for rainy, cold days. I think I like the cold and clouds better because it makes me feel secure. I don't feel like I have to be out there doing anything if I don't feel like it and no one will notice. When the weather is sunny and mild, I feel pressured to get out and do things and I get stressed and anxious. Oh well, I'm hoping to deal better this Spring and Summer by using the tools of the program. Hope you guys feel better too!

Thanks for sharing. It makes me feel better just knowing there are actually others who feel the same way about the weather as I do.

Donna
