As I was getting ready to go to sleep I started having chest pains right over my heart. I had never had them there before and it really scared me. It went away after a few minutes but I though for sure it was a heart attack. I became hot and sweaty. It sent me straight into a panic attack. I tried to calm myself down but was too tired to focus and eventually woke my mom up (I'm 18 and still living at home).
She was able to calm me down some and I fell back to sleep. I woke up 30 minutes later with another panic attack, worse than the first one, and tried to get through it but again was too tired to focus on calming myself down and went to wake up my mom again.
What a terrible night. I thought for sure there was something horribly wrong with me. I'm feeling a little better today but it still feels like there's a dark cloud looming over me.

I am very familiar with that looming dark cloud. I think most of us are. I'm sorry you had such a horrible night. Are you doing the program?

dnlsnow, your 18 years old! I seriously do not think you have anything wrong with your heart.

There are over 50 different things which can cause chest pain - one of which is your chest muscles being over used or tight from anxiety or stress. Also low potassium levels can cause chest pain. So make sure you eat at least 2 bananas a day to keep your potassium levels up.

Remember your chest is made up of muscle, tendon, bone, nerves, lungs, heart etc. Your heart is not the only thing you have in your chest.

All the best.

I am on week 4 of the program but not focusing on it as well as I should be. Today I decided to start back on week 2.

Lol prodigy son, I know. I know it's irrational but I still couldn't help but thing there was something wrong.

dnlsnow-just remember to take one day at a time and good for you to go back. Especially two will help, you need to breathe, use the breathing exercise will help and you need to talk to yourself right away and try not to let any irrational thought carry you away. You need to fight against it. There is nothing wrong with asking for help either and Mom's are always soothing when your not feeling well. We are all going thru and making and you can do it too. You have a bunch of people who are on your side so remember that and just tell yourself your okay its all going to work everything will be alright. God Bless You-Hope this helps
