tracys-just stay with the program and know that there is nothing wrong with you and you are breathing and that everything is okay-when you have anxiety you usually hyperventilate yourself which contributes to dizziness and feeling like you cannot breathe. God Bless You and keep the posts coming there is always someone here to help.

Feeling like you're having trouble breathing is really common with anxiety, although it's always good to be checked by your doctor. I found at times that I had actually been holding my breath for some reason, or breathing so fast I would hyperventilate. Mine was all due to anxiety, and once I realized this (after numerous visits to the Dr.) I was able to come to terms with it and not let it scare me. Once it stopped scaring me, it went away. The relaxation tape will really help. I used it three times a day and especially before I went to sleep. You will see as you listen to the session cds how common this feeling is. Good luck to you with the program. It has benefited me beyond what I had hoped for.

When I hyperventilate I play the relaxation CD at times it is hard to do but I force myself to do it and it does seem to calm me down a bit.

I get that feeling that my heart is racing and i have a tightness in my chest that makes it seem difficult to breathe. I listened to the first audio yesterday and it was amazing, many of the symptoms were me. I feel better just knowing i'm not alone, ya know? Maybe there is hope.
