I agree, it's better not to work for a company that is quick to let people go.

Anyway, why even go there and drag it out with labor laws & legal issues anyway. I'd want this issue behind me whether it was an ice cream store or a 5 star hotel. Just move on to bigger and better things, I think in the grand scheme of things this was meant to be.

As for why you were let go, you and your former employer only know that info but it's over with and the worse thing is to dwell on it over and over in your mind and let it drive you crazy.

I'm in PA and that's what they can do here. In my town there is a brown shipping company

if you know what I mean. They are infamous for doing that. You are at their mercy for the first 90 days and most of the time they fire you. It's a good way not to have to commit to full time and not have high unemployment fees for the company, because the more people sign up under you the more the company pays for unemployment comps. They aren't the only ones, its a common practice. If you are hired by a company that has a 90 day policy and sign something agreeing to the terms, you are bound by that. That's what the law is. It's not a law made up by the state, it's that you agreed to it. So therefore UnEmp. is not an option.

Thank you all for you support. All of your kind words are totally appreciated. You are all right..a new door will open soon. It was just hard yesterday to think that when it just happened. I will move on I know. Im excited to see what new things are going to be around the corner.

Your really taken this hard girl and it may not be about you at all. These days employers are cutting back and if I were the company I would let go the greenies first. What I'm about to say might be blunt but Chin up! roll with it, something new and better will come along soon. Time to look deep and find some needed honest-to-goodness faith. I say good riddens and move forward.

DMP, I too was just terminated from my job today. I know exactly how you feel. I am pretty anxious and worried too...but honestly I have hated, and dreaded working for this company for a long time. I believe what some of the other folks have posted, that things happen for a reason sometimes, and this could be a blessing in disguise. I too am concerned about finances, but I keep hearing Lucinda Bassetts voice from one of the sessions saying...there is always another job, another opportunity, another relationship etc...I don't have any spectacular advice, just thought you might like to know you are not alone, and I too am in the same position as you now.

It is your right to say what you want, but you have to consider other people's feelings. You can't always SAY what's on your mind, if it'll hurt other people. You have to think about things first. There are a lot of hurting people on this site who really don't need more negativity. I'll leave it at that.

I have been fired a few times from jobs that I really didn't like. I ended up eventually with much better. When something bad happens I always believe that something better will come of it. put it behind you, you can find something better.
Start looking.

hey DMP...its always rough losing a job no matter what kinda job you have and especially during these hard economic times...i'm really sorry...

i agree with the others....you can fight the termination if you want to but is it really worth it??...it seems you're better off without this company because it sounds like they don't value their workers and the effort their workers put in...i bet the company has a very high turnover rate which is always something to watch out for...

you just watch....something better will turn up...vent all you want then move on...good luck and take care!!
