Well, my main problem is anxiety but i feel very depressed at times too. I feel most depressed when i'm sitting home alone without much to do and without many people to talk to. That is when i start over-thinking and feeling depressed and anxious about pretty much everything. I start in a downward spiral that just gets worse as the day goes on...So i'm wondering if any of you have a method to stop the boredom or prevent it before it ruins my day.

Boy Starlight I wish I had an answer for both of us. I have the same struggle, not many people to talk to. When my family leaves for work and school, I'm stuck at home without a car. Before I use to take the car and go to a few stores. I don't have anyone to talk to. So now I just go back and forth between T.V. and the internet. I'm trying to learn Office 2007, but I usually just end of surfing the net. What we really need to do is finding ways to be places where we can connect with people. That's why I'm trying to learn Office, so I can get out of the house and get a part-time job.
Do you have any interests or hobbies that you can look into and maybe a near-by park district would have a class for them? I go to the library sometimes and pick out some magazines to bring home (beats paying $$$ at the store for them). I also volunteered at a hospital in an office and it was great to just get out of the house and talk to people. If you like animals volunteering at a pet shelter would be fun. When I am around animals, I come back to life! How about going to the movies? I see alot of people going on there own.
I know so well how you feel. If you have a car, even getting out to the grocery store or drug store will help to break up the isolation and boredom. Going to the bookstore is another idea. Sometimes my head spins when I walk into one of them, they have everything there, even music.
Hang in there, do what you can and don't give into the lonliness
