hi cheri885,

i take lexapro (9 mos.) and i have had a great experience with it. no noticable side affects.

i have been working with this program for about a month and a half now and i feel so much better. the truth is that the program is where i really started to turn my attitude around and feel better and less depressed. the medicine alone was not enough, but i don't think i would have had it in me to go through with all of this change if i had not been taking the medicine also.

i have an understanding that lexapro is an anti-depressant and not necessarily an anti-anxiety medicine. you may want to check with your doctor about which one you need. sometimes, it is possible to take an anti-anxiety on an 'as-needed' basis. however, it sounds like you are dealing with a lot right now. with an anti-depressant, this program and possible an anti-anxiety medicine, you will probably feel much more able to deal with everything you have on your plate.

i take my medicine every morning when i brush my teeth in order to take it at about the same time every morning. it really is important to take it everyday and to not skip a day. it is also very important to follow your doctors instructions when you decide you are able to no longer take it. but be careful because you will probably start to feel better on it and that is when you should NOT just stop taking your medicine. talk to your doctor at this point and assess your situation and see if it is the proper time to start lowering your medicine doses.

take care of yourself and God bless you!

an additional note, i too do not like to take medicine, but a doctor told me that anti-depressants are a very safe and effective treatment to help you in dark times. it took me awhile to go to the doctor and get on meds. i promised myself i would take them for a year and see how it went.

i have found that i still don't take a lot of other medicines, (rarely do i even take meds for headaches) but the anti-depressant does help. AND at one point i did stop taking it regularly and my emotions were out of whack. i got back on a schedule and plan to talk to my doctor in two monthes to start going off the medicine. but i will do it slowly and consistantly when it is time.

again, take care

Lexapro works great for me too, I have been on 10mg for 9 months. I definetly think it helps balance my biochemicals out, I can think straight without the anxiety and I just dont worry like I use to. It has definetly helped given me the tools to help myslef with the anxiety.

I too am on lexapro 20mg.I started with 10mg for 4 weeks went upto 20mg and I'm on my 8 week. Should I feel the full effects of the 20mg or doue I have to wait another 4 weeks? The side effects are almost all gone.I feel that taking the drug and this program is going to do the trick. I plan to be off the drug within a year. Hope for the best for all!!

Hi everyone. I just started the program a week ago and I also just started Lexapro 10mg about 2 weeks ago. I was desperate for something to give me some relief. I thought the Lexapro was never going to kick in but it finally did and I have felt much better for the past few days and the program is also helping. I take mine in the evening because I was waking up around 4:00 a.m. every morning with horrible gut twisting anxiety. My stomach would be in knots for hours and it was difficult to go to work. Taking the Lexapro late in the evening seemed to help. In the morning I take one of the "Positive Mood" supplements that came with this program to help with mood. I love those supplements. They really seem to help also.

It can take form 2-4 weeks for you to feel the full effects of the new dosage of 20 mg, so give it time.
