Staying awake after taking xanax
Have been taking xanax off and on for years, but not very often. I only take it at night before bed because it always knocks me out. Sometimes, after 1mg, I'll sleep for 12 hours, and be dragging the next day. Do others have this same experience? Do you have trouble staying awake if you take it in the morning? Even 0.5 mg makes me just want to sleep.
Re: Staying awake after taking xanax
I took 1 mg of Xanax once when I was at work because I was having a bad panic attack. I almost couldn't drive home. I think Xanax must pack a pretty good punch in a small dose, but you can build up a tolerance. If I were you I would split the pills in half for now.
Sometimes I freak out when I take it because I think it's going to make me go unconscious and I'm too scared, so I have to fight to stay awake. It's a hellish feeling.

The Xanax I take is .5 mg. There are times it makes me drowsy, for sure, but I can function.

Yes xanax always knocks me out. Never take it during the day unless I'm staying in.

I also take half a milligram and it does make me drowsy sometimes.

I have .25 of Xanax to take as needed and the full dose usually knocks me out, so if I'm not home and I need it I take half.
