I took this a long time ago for insomnia. Some people say it really helps with their anxiety but all it did for me was make me incredibly tired so I stopped taking it. St Johns Wort was good for depression and Passion Flower Extract was good for anxiety. I took both of these for quite a long time and they were both very helpful when I needed it.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.
We ask ourselves...
who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?
Actually, who are we not to be? --Unknown

I was taking Vitamin B for stress and Valerium for insomnia and anxiety. While the valerium kind of helped me sleep--in talking to my doctor, she informed me that it's an herbal variant of valium, which is habit forming.... SO, I stopped taking that, and all the Vitamin B did was turn my pee yellow--and certainly didn't help with the stress. Since then I've been taking Clonazapam to help me sleep at night.

yes the 5-HTP is supposed to help with panic and anxiety to....thats y i need info about it...and i think i am going to try it b-4 i take any real meds you no....
Yes, I take 5HTP . 200mg mid-afternoon and 200mg before I go to bed. Basically it is tryptophan, the ingredient found in turkey. Why we feel so content after Thanksgiving dinner. This is what they used to help me wean off my Lexapro. I also use a supplement called GABA Calm. This is gamma-aminobutyric acid a hormone. It is sublingual which means you place it under your tongue. Comes in mint or orange. Don't get capsules as my doctor says the body does not absorb it. This gamma etc is what the drug Xanax helps your body produce to calm you down.
Remember, everyone is different and how your body's hormones are out-of-sync will be different than mine. If you have a good alternative medicine group in your area I would suggest giving them a call.
